Amazing shot here must see

Alain Martel is the no.1 player in Quebec province and considered the best in Canada. Smart escape indeed!!!

That was a great shot although I doubt bouncing off the ball and back into the 5 to make the three was planned.

I did that in a partner money match a few years ago. Was locked up behind the 9 playing 9 ball and hill hill. I rail hopped over the 9 and made the 8 in the intended short rail pocket. The 9 was a duck. That shots comes up in one pocket once in a while. It pays to know them.

Oh that was from the recent border battle that we couldn't see here huh ?

Martel the dancing bear is a fantastic player. I remember at CCBUSA in Chelmsford Mass he played Alex in the finals. What a contrast in size. They both were playing top the audiance too. Very enjoyable match with Alex winning and jumping into the arms of Martel. They are good friends from playing in Canada so much !

Thanks Robley. Hope we can find some of this event to view. Sounds like it was Mosconi Cup style !

That was incredible. I was thinking to myself what i would do. The only thing I came up with was going into that rail and making contact. IMPRESSIVE... only he will know if he meant to come back into the 5/3 combo:thumbup:

This is exactly why the call shot rule at the DP event in Mobile was enacted. The announcer said the Martel meant to do the combo. I'm not convinced.

Calling the shot would have eliminated the chance of slop.

Nevertheless, I have to hand it to him; That was extremely creative.

Awesome, I will put that in my shot bag, not sure I could pull it but I love no knowing the concepts

Great shot especially with making the other ball as well and keeping his shot going

They play call shot 9 Ball at that event?

No way on this earth that he planned that combo. He had to jump off the rail to hit the 2 then roll back to cut the 5 that in turn cut the 3. No way that was planned. Nice controlled jump though. I've done that many times and not all of them have been successful. Judging the power is tough if you don't practice it.

yea it was the ONLY shot he had

Great shot!! He got a lot of lift on the cue ball.

From the video it looks like he also had another option. Kicking three rails out of the corner where the seven was with extreme left spin and possibly kicking it into the top side pocket.

Maybe a few years ago. Jason Klatt or Johny Morra have to be considered the best nowadays.

That shot was from the border battle a few years back. Martel actually missed the 9-ball in that rack and lost the set.

I haven't seen them play in a while but I'm pretty sure Alain and Danny Hewitt could take them on pretty much all the time. But then again, Jason and John have more experience now and have also traveled a lot more. I really respect Jason and John's game a lot.

This is EXACTLY why I don't like call shot Ten Ball. If he doesn't call the three ball, it's either loss of turn or BIH depending on which rules you are playing. Meanwhile Alain made a great shot to hit the two ball. Why should he be penalized because the three went in? Did you notice the reaction of the fans? Whoever decided to take this element out of the game is not doing our sport any favors.
