most underrated players

If you want to go that route, the vast majority of people that play pool have no idea who Efren is. The surely don't know who Yang is!

Notice I said "pool players" in my thread, not "people that play pool". There's a difference.

Then surely you must agree, that by the "general publics" standards, Efren and Yang are also underrated. If you polled the "general public" or "people that play pool" to name 5 famous pool players, they would have a hard time coming up with 5 names. Once they get past Willie Mosconi, Minnesota Fats, and the "Black Widow", they begin to draw a blank :sorry:.

So, for the most part, ALL pool players are underrated as far as the "general public" goes, as they don't have a clue as to what is going on in the world of pool, and most couldn't care less.

Chris started this thread asking a question that requires an opinion, and I gave mine. No need to question it, as it is only one man's opinion.

Shoot well and get good rolls, my friend!!!

I guess that the same as the over rated thread this is also depends on "HOW" do you mean under rated.

I'll say Archer. I know Archer is great so how can he be under rated right.
Well have you ever noticed how folks always seem to discount Johnny for the win when it's a heavy international field playing. I think he's capabale taking down ANY tournament that he sets his mind to preparing for.

If you're talking about the Rodney Dangerfield "I Get No Respect" type under rated then I'd say......Gabe Owen is under rated.

Bartram: "Yeah I'll play you some but I need the 7 and the crack!"
Underrated player: " What makes you say that?!"
Bartram: " I heard that you are one of the top ten most underrated players in the country"
Underrated player: " Really? Wow! "
Bartram:" I don't mind throwing a couple dimes your way, as long as we can adjust every three sets"
Underrated player: " O.k.!"

The "SMOOTH CRIMINAL" strikes again!!!!!!!!!!

I'd like to throw Chris Bartram on the list too. i don't care how many times i hear he's a dog for the cash or an outright talentless bum i still think he's a good player

Under rated players that I know that still get chances to steal every now and again...a. pendley, da 'fish, d. gunia, everyone in wisconsin area(CG, DC, TM, GA etc...), m. painter, j. brothers, m. chau, and superman. Oh and don't forget Banks Jr. everytime in Olathe people talk like he can't make a ball and it's good for a laugh.

All those there fellas are under rated. I have a hard time calling world champions and known beasts under rated.

This could be a long list, lol! Lets see, if we're going by somewhat unknown players, I suppose you could go to the Phillipines, Taiwan and China and come back here with a congo line of world beaters.

He's one name for the list: Kuo Po Cheng

Well, in reading this post makes me think of an entirely different kind of answer for the question at hand.

I would say EVERYONE !

It is the entire game of POOL that is under rated. Right ?

Thats the basis to alot of things that are discussed here.

Low payouts, lack of exposer, and lack of major sponsers.

In no other game is the ball controlled with more precise importance !

Mike Vidas, Edwin montal, John Jorgensen.

I agree,
I have seen and played with EM and JJ more than a few times and they do play great, also very nice guys. I was fortunate enough to play on a 9ball team with JJ, and he has taught me a fair bit and has given me alot of advise that has helped my game.

I would also throw PJ in there for sure.

LOL! How on earth can you include Jesse, when he is known as one of the very top bar table players???

lol Yeh no disrespect to maniac but jesse is pretty well known as the best barbox.. that's not underrated
