A friend called me from the Southwest Regional 8 Ball event held at the Radisson Conference Center at Fort McDowell, Arizona, this past week saying that Earl Strickland was being harassed by a female in the audience attending his exhibition. According to my friend's account, Earl just broke down his cue and walked off. My friend and his pals traveled 100 miles to watch Earl. Needless to say, they felt cheated!

Wow , your friends really were cheated . They should at the very least have gotten to see one of Earl's world-famous rants & tantrums !
Maybe Earl's finally growing up . . . .

Earl's Walk...justified or not?

Who ever was "running the show" locally should have immediately either quieted her down or remove her. To let her dominate the show and distract the audience was WRONG? As to whether Earl should have called on the local promoter to act, rather than "walk" is problematical .
At least he didn't get in a confrontation with her....so "kind of" good for Earl!
PS: the local promoter, (which didn't act on the problem), should refund those in attendence! I.M.O.

Good for Earl. Either he gets heckled and he explodes or he gets heckled and he leaves. I'm glad he's choosing the better of the two. It's the promoter's fault for not controlling asses in the crowd. If the promoter doesn't police the crowd well - then Earl should leave if he's bothered.

Maybe they should have expressed their displeasure with the female and her companion "Soprano" style.

There was no cover charge for this show.

I was watching on OTR and she was relentless and annoying to say the least.

I don't fault Earl, their appeared to be about 6 people watching and she was one of them, with that being said Earl was very funny while it lasted.

someone should have just put something in her mouth and shut her the F up........

use a cue ball next time.....works great

Wait a minute....when was this...not this weekend???

I was there friday night when there was a boisterous lady that appeared to be enjoying here glass of wine....but Earl was totally calm the whole time...

I was there yesterday and Earl came in again....nothing formal he was in there hitting some shots....pretty impressive ones at that.

Then I got to chat with him for about an hour....he sat down and was re-doing his wrap and chatting with me and a couple other guys....I asked him some questions about his tennis wrap grip and why he does it....and some other questions about the pool/golf/tennis relationship.

He was perfectly fine the whole time and to be quite honest had some pretty cool and some funny stories.

I did not get the impression that Earl "walked" on anything...He did his thing and when he was done...he left.

Unfortunatly there were only a handful of people around when he was there....quite a few missed out

Earl was warming up before his exhibition when this happened. It was not the actual exhibition. He did his exhibition later. Quite good too. Your friends should have stuck a round.

And for the first time in AZB history, the "story" changes.

wrong

Earl and the Lady were having fun, that's all.

She was saying she wanted 'private lessons' from Earl, and was willing to barter for them. Susan Williams was sitting right next to her, and it was her who said that the Lady was willing to barter. (as she said in a low voice)

Earl wasn't pissed, or mad at anything or anybody, the whole event.

The crowds were less than anticipated. Because of that, Earl did his exhibittions in segments. He did 2 of them on Fri. night. and 1 longer last night.

He sat with a few of the locals afterwards, and answered questions. He was gracious the whole time. (as has been attested in previous posts)

Wait, wait, wait! The OP said he unscrewed, and you're saying there was bartering to screw. This is all too confusing.

Jeez, another Paul Bunyan OP better off found in Aesop's fables. Maybe it shoulda read: "Earl javelined a CueTec up spectator Mother Theresa's schnoz for sneezing in his wing ball backstroke."

Amazing how things get turned around....

His friends must have awfully bad timing, and were too impatient to wait around a little. He came back down shortly after the first exhibition on Friday, and stayed to 10:00
