Greatest Cue I've EVER Owned... "Tribute to My Dad"

Hey AZer's,
Saturday Sept, 18th was the one year passing of my father.
To make matters worse I had to get through a 16 hour day of work by myself.
Anyone who has lost someone very close knows it was almost impossible to go through alone.

Today my mother gave me the greatest gift..
Yes, My Dad's pool cue..
He won a straight pool tourney in his youth, and 1st place was an original Frank Paradise cue. The cue was specially made for him including his name in the clear window "Ed Kerner" Original by Frank Paradise.
This cue will stay with me forever..

Thank you for sharing that...I lost my dad in 2004 to CMML Leukemia at the age of 58..Your story was very touching, and brought back some memories.

Sorry to hear about your dad's passing Ken. That Paradise cue made for your dad looks like it was in a time capsule! Thanks for showing it to us.

Sorry for you loss Ken. That cue is a great tribute to your father and a keepsake that I surely will bring back many fond memories.
 
No doubt the cue will bring you better memories as the years pass. Sorry for your sadness today, Ken.
 
wow thats awesome Ken, i'm at a loss for words. I intentionally forgot the death dates for my parents, I know my dad was in 2000 and mom 2005, makes it easier that way-I havent been the same since.

Having something like this to commerate your pop is(still at a loss of words) I suppose something I wish I had-it dosent get any better. I have a few of my dads guns.

Ken, my condolences go to you and your family and i thank you for sharing with your AZB family your mother's wonderful thoughtfullness on what would have been your father's birthday. You should play with this keepsake of your father's once a year on his birthday. Happy Birthday and RIP Dad Kerner you will always be remembered.

Sorry for you great loss. But you gain some great memory of your Dad everytime when you look at that cue like your Dad smiling down on you. Like Kam said mount that cue in a nice glass case.

I lost my Dad to Leukemia also. Thanks for the nice words.
This cue will be treasured.

Condolences for your loss.
I lost my Mom over 10 years ago, she loved Cameo jewelry, so when I discovered that Meucci made a Cameo Cue (97-28), I bought it to commemorate her. We called her Louie, so this is my "Lou Cue".
My Dad said that cue cost more than the table I now have, which he bought way back in the mid 60's.
The cue never leaves the house, and I only use it when I have familty visiting.
I also light a memorial candle every year on the anniversary of her passing, it is a tradition that always brings me mixed emotions.

Hi I lost Mom and Dad in '63 and 64, Mom was 44 and Dad was 51 , There isn't a day I don't think about them. I have my Dads old split bambo deep sea fishing poles. He didn't shot pool. Treasure you memorys and keep that beautiful cue forever . Thanks for showing , Jim
 
Lost my Mom May 31st this year, my Dad went in June of '97.... Sorry for your loss, time will heal it, you will have many fond memories and they will come flooding back each time you handle that magnificant cue.............
