If you could ask Earl "The Pearl" Strickland any Questions what would they be???

We at Runout Media have something special planned for Pool Fans, Featuring Earl Strickland, Just hoping for some feedback as to what everyone would like to know about him if they had the chance.

You never know your questions may be answered sooner than you think.

Thanks for any response.

I would like to ask him why he gravitated from a shorter bridge/stroke setup that he used back in the 80's to early 90's to the much longer bridge/stroke that he uses now and whether he's ever thought about going back to the shorter stroke.

I would like to know many questions but one is who was his mentor/teacher, the biggest influences on his game.

I would like him to explain his stroke, from start to finish.

It looks like he is forward of 90° at the start, and not much follow through at the end.

Also, it looks like he rotates his wrist/forearm at the end, his knuckles turn under.

I just sent an email to Nathan, this is going to be funnier than I thought.

I'm curious to know what he thinks about eye-positioning. It looks like his face isn't even on top of his cue.

I'd ask him if he had any old beekeepers suits for sale ... oh, and if he could sign it!

Meximan, Please can you Nathan or Dave give me a call please at 480-612-7732 I have send emails etc. Thanks Mark,

I would like to ask Earl the following questions;

1) Where do you place yourself on the list of best 9 ball players in history?

2) Where do you place yourself on the list of best all-a-round pool players in history?
Not including snooker or billiards

3) Who gave you your toughest maches?

4) Whos style and play do you admire or respect most? (from any time period)

5) Do you still love pool today as much as you ever have?

I'm a huge Earl fan and appreciate this opportunity.

I just called you Mark. No answer. I'll call back in 15.

On a side note, as a reminder to myself, I'm curious to hear Earl explain such gadgetry as the finger slides, elbow pads, sun glasses, etc. I'm sure he has a logical reason for everything he does. This will be Earl's chance to really set the record straight on such things. Should be pretty interesting. :)

On a side note, I hear he plays a mean game of golf. I may have to take him for a round and get some of it on tape. Even 9 holes we'll do, since he likely has a busy schedule. I can't play golf worth a shit, but maybe I can beat him in a race with the carts. lol

Earl why is it so hard for you to shake hands with an opponent who just beat you? Sometimes you won't shake at all I've heard ? Why? :frown:

Bingo. These are golden. Thanks Snake.

I'd want to ask him if he ever considered seeing a psychiatrist (but only if I were wearing a catcher's mask).

Then I'd slap him on the back and tell him that NO player has given me such pleasure in watching (for his talent) as he has. I'd ask him how he can be so goddam good!

Ask Earl

I would ask him in all sincereity if he would talk to a sports psychologist to help him overcome all the stuff that has happened, so that he could play his game again to its fullest potential.
If he cannot afford one I would think that there is one out there who is an Earl fan and would help him.
If not I would be the first to donate money to help him pay for it. This is not a knock against Earl.
I have talked to him many times at tournaments and he was always great.
Whatever happened, it has seriously affected his play for a long time and he still plays as good as most of the guys. If he could learn to channel that negative stuff into positive he would be a force again.
I wish you all the best Earl.

im suprised it didnt get answered already but as far as the question of what he thought about the joe rogan impression i was watching a live stream on here one day and i wont quote the name because i cant remember for a fact who it was that said it. but they said that joe rogan actually personally asked earl what he thought of the video and earl didnt even recognize him and started getting butt hurt over it saying "who was that guy, im going through a really rough time in my life right now and he is making fun of me, i cant believe he would say such things". this was pure hear say though i obviously wasnt personally there when it happened but thats what i heard on a live stream on azbilliards

I would ask him what type of tip he was using during the 90's, from 1990-1999, During that time I never seen him miscue, I know he got a good stroke not to miscue, but I'm also curious of the type of tip, and the shape of it too, important to know the shape. Thanks
