AZ Poolfest II

I had a lot of work to do at home and you guys kept me entertained all day. Brad does play a good game as most of you guys do.

Looked like you guys had a good time, should have been PPV, but where were the women?

It was a lot of fun and great to meet some AZ'ers and make new friends.

I for one didn't play that well, having a tough time adjusting to the table. I haven't had much playing time on Diamonds but I may have to gear up for the next one at your house by feeding tokens into the Smart tables at the OC Sports Grill. At least I had a run-out off a dry break. That may have been the only one of the day - that's how tough your table plays. Because I know these players are better than that.

Thanks again, Jay, you were the consummate host.

Frank, we talked about that. We were monitoring the viewership numbers which we figured were kept down somewhat by the stream of the WPBA stream on the final day. But we did discuss going PPV and having a scantily clad rack girl to help bump the number of subscribers. :D

Jay, you were a fantastic host yesterday. I had a great time. And I really enjoyed meeting some new people and seeing some old friends. Thanks everybody!

Yeah, wins the whole thing in a hill-hill final by slopping in the 9.

9 Ball is broken I tell ya'!! :rotflmao1::rotflmao:

Seriously, congratulations for pulling it out. Even though it didn't show it at times, you outlasted some pretty tough players. ;) G' Luck today at the Hard Times monthly Open event. Given the tough field you beat last night, you should have no problem with the those bangers .;)

I happen to know this from an inside source. These guys split the prize money. Add the appearance fee and they all did pretty well! No Strickland in this bunch. LOL.

Jay, that was an awesome night of pool. Thanks for hosting. Your Diamond is a ball buster to say the least. What a nice table! You had to hit the ball clean.
Great group of guys. Count me in the next time!

I'm hosting after Russ, so get ready fellas for some 10 ball.

I've beaten that Cuaba guy a dozen times- I may have had to play him hundreds of times to do it, but it still counts.:p

.......but it don't count for much... 'cause it only REALLY counts if he's NOT too drunk to stand up. :groucho:

Congrats to Brad! Thanks for sharing some of your alcohol and it was fun shooting against you.

Jay you were an awesome host thanks for making us all feel welcomed. My son had a fun time with your brainteaser puzzles. :) That bachelor pad is sweeeet and that Diamond plays tough! Humbling, that's for sure!

Dogs, Einstein, poolhustler, atthecat, poolroom Tim, auntydan-- Fun times were had!

I look forward to Poolfest 3!

Abe - i4pool

Good shooting Abe, especially when you beat that bum Helfert in the first round.

Abe, Abe, Abe-

Bad move. You gotta come thru the loser bracket.

It sounds like a good time by all. Tough table, competitive play, great host-Atttta Jay!

PS: Jay that truck looks bullet-proof.

Take care

Thank You California AZ'ers!

Made it back to the daily grind. Work has been piling up since I left.

Seems that in this economy I'm working harder, taking more risks, & putting up with more stress. All for less money.

Although I travel all the time, it is almost always for business. This weekend was a much needed vacation.

Thanks to all the AZ'ers who made it such a great weekend.

Special thanks to Jay Helfert for hosting the tournament, to Chris Tate for taking us out to a great Mexican Restaurant, and to Bamadog for inviting me to his home.

Here is a pic of Tate, myself, and Jay Helfert at the Mexican restaurant where Chris took us to dinner (Photo by OMGWTF, who chose not to be in the pic.):

Actually OMGWTF did sneak into the picture. She's behind the margarita sign on the mirror.

Good Call

Good call Dabarber & Punter. I guess there's a lesson here about not taking a picture in front of a mirror if you want to remain anonymous.

Frank, it was great to meet you at Hard times. Hope to see you again next time I'm in town.

Look at those empty plates and they were FULL of food! Only three blocks from Hard Times and the best Mexican food! Thanks Chris for turning us on to this place. If I look like a midget next to these two big guys, that's because I am.

Brad and Chris are both great guys. Smart, successful and a lot of fun to hang out with. And they love pool of course. OMGWTF was entertaining as usual. She is a unique individual with a quirky view of the world. But whoa, what an appetite! The girl can put it away....somewhere. How she remains so thin is beyond me.

I thought Tate would be older.... like Jay and Brad.

Jim - I am older - 57 to be exact, but I know your just jivin' Jay so you ought to put a smiley face on it. So far so good, however, although I've gotten a little out of shape this year. I've had a lot of dental work this year (oral surgery) and it's kept me off my exercise program.

It was really fun to spend a few moments away from the poolroom with Brad, Jay and Melinda. It was a pleasure - I would hang around with this group anytime!

Chris

If you want to have some real fun try vertigo mixed in with a broken knee cap from a fall. I get knocked down but I get up again because you're never gonna keep me down...

Old age ain't for sissies.
