i have waded through all of the posts in this thread, and it's obvious, this subject is a hot button issue for a lot of people.
One thing jumped out at me that seemed peculiar and if the folks who run dcc are interested in making positive changes, this might be a good place to start, if what adam wheeler said happened, did.
When johnny didn't show up for the start time of their match, adam went to the tourney desk and they ended up putting ja on the clock. When the clock ran out and ja still wasn't there, adam went back and was told by the same person at the tourney desk that they didn't have the authority to forfeit ja and that the td wasn't available.
It seems odd and, frankly, even a bit illogical that someone working for dcc who had the power to put someone on the clock, didn't possess the authority to forfeit that player when he failed to arrive by the time the clock ran out. This doesn't make sense.
So, powers that be; if your people can put a player on the clock, let them also have the authority to call a match a forfeit if a player doesn't get there by the time the clock runs out.
Put me in the column of those who feel adam wheeler was treated unfairly and, yes, it does smack of favoritism, imo.
Best,
