Just a curiosity I've had. Who is the fastest player you have personally ever seen, whether that be in person or on video. links to videos are always welcome

I guess Luc Salvas is the best of them now.

Perhaps not the quickest, but you wouldn't want to bet on anyone against him, even with ye olde 3second shot clock.

Bobby McGrath 2007 -2008 speed pool Champion, He play good when he slows down too..

Dave Daya in 14.1

The quickest with the best results, Lou Butera! Lou is the man!

14.1-wise, I definitely agree! Another player underrated for his speed of execution is Dave Daya. You won't see it in any of his tournament matches, because he does slow it down, but when he's doing a 14.1 challenge (e.g. like at SBE), he races through racks -- a real pleasure to watch!

Tony Drago, Luc Salvas, and Bobby McGrath also get a nod, but more in the other disciplines of pool.

The fastest I've ever seen in person was Norm Wines. Watched him win the open at the SBE twice and couldn't get over how fast he played. I nick named him machine gun because he just fired them in. His safes were spot on and he didn't think long about them either. I never once saw him come close to losing in those 2 years. He played as well as anybody could play during those 2 tournaments.

About 3 or 4 rounds before the finals the last year he won it, he happened to be playing on the table next to a guy from my town. Before that match started Norm walked over to my dad and I and asked if we wanted to be 100.00 on the match going on next to his ( the guy I knews match). I said no, I don't know the guy he's playing....... Norm said "neither do I, you can take your pick!" Lol! He just wanted to bet 100.00 He didn't care who he had........Guess he had a hunch he might win the open again. I'll never forget that.

9ball, Drago pots 8 balls in about a minute, notice no thinking time at all for a 4 rail position shot (some players would take a minute or two):

Coincidentally, I just watched that clip when surfing around for some pool to watch on youtube. Watched a few other clips from other players and gave it up for a bad job. Slow play is the death of pool. Utterly unwatchable.

I agree with the Drago, Salvas and McGrath but I've got a few of my own to add....Ronnie O'Sullivan and Francisco Diaz.

About even today between Salvas and Drago.

In yesteryear, there was, in fact, a player who played faster than Lou Butera and that was Steve "Stevie Wonder" Dobrowolski, who, if memory serves, played out of the Philadelphia area.

Luc Salvas is the fastest I have seen and I have seen all of the well known ones mentioned on this thread. When Luc gets it going it is almost comical how fast the guy shoots, he will put a 4 pack on you in about 6 minutes.

Mike Miller is another very fast and accurate player. Really nice guy, too!

I played Bobby recently in a tournament and he can slow way down if he needs to but plays fast if everything is open. The fastest player that I personally played was Dave Pearson. He just played fast no matter the situation.
