Yep. It's always fun to fool around with draw on new cloth. You can do some amazing stuff for a while.

Glen (RKC) is just now spending his last night here at my place after doing a complete 'Cobrasizing" of my GC-1. I couldn't be happier with the result.
I'll be posting a detailed thread on the transformation a little later.
These tables are treasures built to last a lifetime (or two).

I think a 'Cobrasized GC-I' are called 'Super Crowns'
Because of RKC, my table plays great (although he didn't do it). Older GCs running Artemis are being referred to as a Super Crowns.
There's nothing like it. Certainly not like those boingy older Diamonds.

I also have a GCI. I don't know what year it was built, but it does not have adjustable leg levelers. Has to be leveled with shims.
Nice table & set up...get well so you can enjoy it!!
I recently picked up a GC1 with leg levelers dated 1963, all the pocket irons are also dated 1963 so I am assuming they are original to the table
Also, not to hijack but what are the 2nd pair of "skirts" on your & kickin chicken's tables that look to be under & behind the side "skirts"....mine does not have those, does anyone manufacture reproductions, or anyone know where I can get some?

That 1963 date on the feet and pocket castings is the mould date of the parts, not the date the table was manufactured, otherwise ALL GG1's would have been built and sold in 1963...LOL

I kind of wish I had the ball return. This is my first drop pocket table.
The lower skirts are partly a design element and I do think they add a little depth to the look of the table. But maybe they also serve the function of hiding the bottom of the drop pockets. I've seen pics of tables where these were scrapped and you could see the bottom of the pockets sticking out below. Now I'm not sure if the original pockets would stick out. My understanding is that originally the early GCs had shorter pockets that didn't hold as many balls. Maybe the pictures I've seen that I referred to had newer pockets installed on an older GC.
Monte, the pockets are original, right? How many balls do they accept? Can you tell if they would show if the lower skirts weren't there? BTW, I predict you will come to prefer the drop pockets, especially if you're having back problems.
