why has'nt anyone said it yet? appleton vs svb. tar!

It would be a close race to 75 in 9-ball or 10-ball. The way Daz is playing right now i'd say even money. Johnnyt

I think the reason is people think in a long set of 10 ball Shane's break would overpower Daz, but in 9 ball it may be a lot more interesting. How about a rematch of Daz and Hatch. I think it would be a different outcome this time. Daz showed more firepower during the US Open than I have ever seen out of him. I could be wrong but I personally believe Shane's 10 ball break in a real long set is too much for anybody in the world to overcome even if they outplay him by a small margin.

I believe Appleton has said he has no interest in a long match like that. He might would do a short race..

Alex pretty much proved that. The break was the key factor in that match. At the end of the match Alex pretty much stated that the break was the reason he lost. IMO Alex DID outplay SVB by a small margin in almost all of the aspects of the game except the break where SVB gained a HUGE advantage.

There are a few players in the world that I think might have the break and the game to go with SVB even in a long set but they are all from the Philipines or Taiwan.

SVB vs Ko Pin Yi would be an incredible match.

Not even close, yes SHANE's break is the nuts, but Alex did not outplay him at all. Alex did not kick well or get out when he was supposed to alot. The one thing Alex did do better then Shane was play safe. He locked Shane to the back of a back rather the just hooking him on it. Just MHO

Daz runs out of gas in long sets and loses interest. I watched it happen and that is exactly what he said happened and that he would never play that way again.

So Shane will just have to continue being the best in the world in long sets that actually matter.

They will likely meet in the Mosconi Cup. Should make for some excitement!

We must have watched a different match then. Alex did not miss kicks at all in the match I watched and the announcers made special note of that fact. Plus Alex was missing less shots then SVB was, if you fail to remember SVB struggled alot in the first two days, missed alot of shots, and managed at the tail end of both days to put a huge package out there to cloes the night ahead.

In the match I watched Alex was shooting better then SVB on both of the first two days for sure. On day 3 Shane finally started playing top shelf pool.

darren said to me earlier today that he wont race to 100 again, after i mentioned the same thing about playing shane, so wont happen im afraid.

i always thought guys that say "i lost interest" were just making excuses for not being mentally tough enough.....

Our maybe they are professional pool players because they love playing pool. And they love playing pool because it is fun, if he doesn't enjoy doing a race to 100 then why the heck should he?

Thread is kinda funny like you just realized it's possible they could both play! Like you always knew about milk and always knew about cookies but just realized they could work together. LMAO

Sadly it takes a whoooole lot to get two together on TAR and actually follow through and play.

And yes, the euros don't like the race to 100. I don't think Daz wins a race to 35 though.

I'd like to see it but I feel the same way.. If Darren plays the way he did in the Open, Shane may not like it.. Who knows though, they both have such a high gear it may just be a coin toss?

Maybe best 2 out of 3 sets, races to 30, if your stuck the first 2 sets you have the option to double or nothing on the last day.
