Don't let CO_Kid1 steal your money like he did mine!! Please READ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting- there was a kid here in ftw for months calling himself the colorado kid, from Ft. Collins. Usually hung out around Rustys, but someone said he went to Shooters in Olathe, and was on the road with his girlfriend for a bit. I called the shooters I know in Colorado, and none had a clue who this wannabe hustler was. Now you have my interest in him as well.... I will see who I know thats run into him on the road. Chanute isn't big enough to hide in anyway.lol

That is interesting, maybe we are hot on his tail because I tried emailing him and both emails he was using are deleted now....

When kickshotkid made the payment the "regular way" PayPal might have come up with this guys address...it might be worth seeing if you can get that from kickshotkid...this guy's in TX (at least that's what is location said I think)...there's enough AZ members in TX probably willing to "help"...

Just another thouhgt...

As far as I know about PayPal, when you set up an account, it HAS to be tied to a legitimate bank account that is VERIFIED by PayPal...that would lead me to believe that when the name on the PayPal account comes up, it's the same name that's tied to the bank account thus it is the person's legitimate name...

I could be wrong, but PayPal does what it can to make sure their PayPal accounts are legitimate...of course, that's not to say this guy hasn't found a way around it...

Again...just what I THINK I know...if I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will set me straight... ;)

Yea that does make sense do it probably is his name..we just need to verify his location to pinpoint him...I talked to someone at PayPal and actually I will prob get my money back she said, and that their fraud unit is going to look into him so atleast it seems like something good may happen out of it.

Glad to hear it!

No Reason

It could also be the fact that he is new to buying, selling, and shipping. Also, I remember my first deal on AZB, I was a little lost at first on how to complete the deal which slowed down the process. It went as planned and was a win/win.

That still is no reason to avoid the buyer. A simple reply back would ease his mind a little.

DId she mention that they are gonna bust your ass for attempting to scam PayPal out of its fees?

They got you by the nutzzzzzzzz, sorry to say.

That's what I was thinking. I'm surprised PayPal is trying to help since you payed for goods using the gift option.

Probably beating a dead horse here but paying via "gift" method is a terrible idea if you do not know & trust the seller..

I've paid that way myself a time or two but only when buying from people I know or I trust because others I know have bought from them..

I hope you get your money back none the less!

Yea I was waiting for her to say something about paying fees or getting sued, but a multi billion dollar company like that, im thinking might be more worried about their reputation, they don't want to have a rep for havin scammers misuse their service, that's what I would think anyway rather then them being more concerned about the $8 fee, but I told her how he insisted me pay that way and I said I know they prob can't doing anything because of the gift, but she said she can escalate a claim for me about it so we will see, I received an email saying she did it, so they r being very helpful

PayPal filing your claim is a very good thing. If there were sufficient funds in his account they yanked them back "pending resolution". More than likely he had w/drawn the funds so they have frozen his account until he ponies up or until they rule in his favor. If its not a scam account he set up (another thing paying by credit cards eliminates as PayPal requires sellers to go through a higher level of verification) and if PayPal actually gets their money back from this guy, they will give yours back to you.

I've been watching this thread. Damn shame.

I have to say that it is a contradiction to say one is 100% honest or won't engage in fraud if one also admits one will use the gift option for a transaction payment.

I won't do it. If I am asked (and I have been) I respond that I will not engage in a fraudulent transaction. That is exactly what I say.

I don't care how many iTraders one has or how well I know someone. Business is business and friendship is friendship. Don't ask me to lie.

If one is worried about the 3% or whatever it currently is then increase the price to cover it.

People say they are honest and trustworthy yet they say they are willing to use the gift option. That's a lie, it is dishonest....so it's a contradiction. Sure...it's a small lie...but now you are messing with the business handling the monetary transaction....and willingly.....personally, I think that is flat out dumb.

As far as the character that apparently pulled this scam, I truly hope he gets what is coming, which is certainly substantially more than a red mark on an internet forum or a bad transaction rating on an internet forum.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the "gift" option just mean that the sender pays the fees instead of the recipient of the funds? Or is there a difference in the amount of fees charged, "gifting" being cheaper? I guess I'm lost about where the deceit/fraud is...thx.

1. paypal accounts, i do not have a bank account if you set up a paypal it acts as a bank as far as i know so you can recieve money and have it online cant touch it with a card unless you add your bank account.. i have a savings account that i refuse to attach to anything other then the little booklet thing
2. no gift option gives the option of fee if you pay with a card to the sender/reciever the sender has the choice on who to give it to
- as well gift gives a 3% charge cause paypal is hosting said service and need money to support there opperation and avoid scum succh as him
- the fraud comes in where they specifically state ' the gift is not for a service/product' and you clearly are sendning him a gift and he is sending a gift back to you.. is how you can avoid this as long as you dont use the verb buy/sell and only use gift then you will be okay on fraud

3. i mean money is tight i unfortunately know that from dealing with mo i do believe i angered him cause i said i would come up with the 130 and .. just couldnt because family things came up but i mean stealing a cue the thought never crossed my mind.. guess honest people are far and few between and the dishonest people ruin it for the rest of us

on a side note just think we wouldnt be here had the governement passed censorship

i would guess that was actually him who said he was heading to shooters in olathe. the ip address near chanute, kansas could be while he was on the road headed away from olathe. chanute is only 105 miles south of olathe.

i live about 30 minutes from shooters in olathe. i could ask pool players i know if they heard of mr. smith or a "colorado kid" playing over there. i have a feeling that i will get a good laugh out of some people if they hear of some guy referring to himself as "the colorado kid". what a douche.

There are no transaction fees with 'gift' option.

There is no 'gift' when one is purchasing an item.

Do you even read threads at all before you post, or do you just hammer out a tourette's reply after reading only the thread title?

Seriously those were the first 6 words he posted. How the hell did you miss that?

It's you who's not in the know before blasting out your own rude ass scolding. You can fund paypal with your credit card or with an instant transfer from your bank account or from funds on deposit with Paypal. As an extra line of defense always use a CC if there's anything that makes you nervous. Your credit card company doesn't care if it's paypal or not, they have the power to defund the transaction if you can show you were robbed and the money will come back to you eventually. Learn how the world works before running your mouth. The advice was sound.
