They say Dechaine Dumped, come defend yourself.

this went wrong

This was not meant to be a post about, terms of pool, nor was it me stating Mike Dumped. I think the credit goes to Earl for how he played. He deserves all the credit, instead of people crying dump. Everyone can have an excuse for somebody, or even themselves, every time we a miss a shot, lose a game or lose a match. I played a guy a month ago in straight pool and every shot he missed he said it skidded, and I mean every shot. Sometimes we just miss, and for me misses happen a lot.

It would be nice just to shake someone's hand and say, on this day in this match you were better than me, congratulations. How about some positives to the players when they win.

Time to move on.

I'm sure Earl is not concerned about what anybody on this forum thinks, and he's probably feeling pretty spiffy this fine Monday morning after the almighty win! :D

I'll have what he is having.

Really?? GAY?? How very PC. How in anyway is saying the term Driver Seat gay?? Wow :nono:

thanks

Nasty's best term was calling cross side banks a cross face. Sometimes he even called cross corner banks a cross face. Every time he said it I had a mental image of one player slamming his arm across his opponents face in the wrestling move of the same name. Technically I guess he was right because the cue ball does cross the face of the object ball but I got a laugh out of it every time.

Drivers seat is still gay though.

Thanks I wrestled and now will have that image in my mind every time I palya that shot.

Well stated Rob!

For sure. He definitely looks like he's feeling no pain! :p

One thing about Earl that some folks may or may not know, he's suffered from horrible kidney stones. I have seen him compete in tournaments while he was in terrible pain: Carolina Open in 2004 and Trumps 10-Ball Challenge. He had to go to the hospital during the tournament to get treatment and then compete in the tournament the next day. That's pretty strong, and that's how strong Earl's drive is to be the best at his profession.

Earl's still my horse if he never wins another race! He always acted like a gentleman in my presence. To know Earl is to love Earl, I guess. A lot of people don't really *know* Earl. You can't judge a book by its cover. ;)

I have been around pool twenty four years and never heard it called "Driver seat". Someone was trying to be cute with a new term. It's gay.

Some people like "to be cute with a new term" like "Driver seat", while others like to try and be cute with a new term like "STRIFLE" ;):D!!!

Maniac (has actually seen ONE of the above terms in a dictionary )

Thats the Hot Seat match.

I trump that being around pool for over 60 years and never heard it. Most pool sayings really make much sense IMHO. Johnnyt

Just curious, but have you ever heard of "tom," like somebody "tomming you" or "he's a tom"?

I found that term unusual, just heard it recently. Apparently, according to Keith, it's quite common in California.

I'm no fan of Dechaine but for someone to post BS like that on the chat and it get any traction is ridiculous. Then to ask him to come on here and defend his self is unbelievable. To me Dechaine looked wore out and Earl looked like he was ready to play for a couple of days if he had to. Congrats to both of them for making it to the finals

Never heard that one either I don't think. California is flakey. But nice grass comes from there. Johnnyt

LOL! I'm glad I'm not the only one who hadn't heard of that. I have a good friend named "Tom-Tom," and when I heard that term and its meaning, I felt bad for Tom-Tom. :D

Gave up smoking 4.5 years ago. I prefer bluegrass myself ---> HERE

Love the gamblin' man, love the gamblin' man.

I'd like to hear from Mike about the match, but I don't think he dumped.

It looked like Dechaine, ran out of gas. I said in the other thread the kid is great and getting better. Once he does gets to that next level, stuff like this will stop happening.

Best,

Justin

He doesn't need to acknowledge it, much less address it. In fact, 'as your attorney, I advise you...'.

Wow, if you said that here you could get into a fight, depending on the race of the person.

I think a LOT of people (myself included) believe he is ALREADY at the next level!!!

Maniac (no bangers in the Mosconi Cup ;))

OMG! I didn't even think about that meaning. :o

From what Keith says, a "tom" is somebody who is a nit, somebody who knocks a game: "He's tomming the match." It's a derogatory term.
