Why STILL All The Venom For Bill Stroud?

It surprises me people respond to Pangits threads.
He just chooses a subject for you to talk about. It must amuse him to start theads and not post on them
 
Craig, someone suggested that a collection be taken and the winner gets a custom from another maker. Hammy wouldn't have anything to do with it.

I hope he eventually may change his mind.

I think Bill should be held accountable for this one but in reality, the biggest blow that might be dealt is the fact that another maker got to fulfill the empty space that Bill created.

Hammy can have a well deserved pool cue, we can donate and feel good that we helped, Bill can screw off and do what ever he does in his retirement. If BS had ever had the intention of making good his promise, it will be taken away from him and he will not be allowed to atone for this one.
 
IMO, Bill deserves every negative post on this topic until he at least issues a public apology. He should also be banned from this forum until he is ready to issue that apology. He has wronged the entire forum, not just the designated "winner" of his fake contest. What's wrong with the mods here? Is there ANYONE else on this forum who could do such a thing and NOT get at least temporarily banned? Heck, my good friend just got a 30 day time-out just for dropping the F-bomb to one person in a PM...

Bill's past reputation/leadership/participation in the billiard industry should not exempt him from making good on his very public promise to deliver. In fact, it should increase that responsibility. If he doesn't think so, then he deserves what he gets. People need to be held accountable for their actions.

If you are offended by the threads, then simply don't open them. You know what's inside anyway...
 
I was 2 nd in DYD contest. Lost by 1 vote. If Stroud build cue with my design his value will be around $15-$20k (his words).
I was crazy over a month when i realize that i was so close :(

Imagine my insanity if my cue won the contest? :eek:

Nice one. If he were "even handed??? He Drop's Buddy Halls name like a dime. Look at the 91 Las Vegas "Dumping" thread. I hate Earl...But he was the only one that raised the BS flag and stood his ground.

You don't see LNL "explaining" away Buddy's conduct? Quiet as a Church Mouse.

If there were a Comhish of Pool....like Kennasaw "Mountain" Landis of the Early twentieth century MLB... The lot, other than Earl, (and he would got an award for doing the right thing) would have been banned for life... Like Shoeless Joe Jackson and Black Sox...and Pete Rose

I'm pretty sure LNL forgave Buddy for his short comings and made a friend for life. He is not selectively forgiving.

After all, Buddy's not an ax murderer or something, right?

Wasn't aware until just now that a "second place" design had been selected. My bad. It also raised an interesting (at least to me) thought. How convenient of Mr. Stroud to have selected two Europeans as the top designers. If either won, he would not have to ever face them.

Another poster mentioned it was childish for some of us to continue to pursue this issue. In keeping with that thought, how about "sticks and stones can break my bones but names will never hurt me". To parashrase the last Knight of the Crusades, Mr. Stroud chose wisely!

Sure...but that doesn't make it "okay" it's abhorrent conduct by any true sportsman...regardless of the discipline?

You said it best Buddy is the same-same as Bill Stroud...Neither are Axe Murders....both with a highly "checkered" past. Neither deserve to be emasculated. Fair enough?

As for your earlier comparison, it's flawed on many levels. No one marched into anyone's house uninvited. It's a public forum for anyone to join. It's no more your place that it is Bill's. And Bill didn't offend a family member and then match off. Weak analogy.

At best, you could stretch it to say that the contest was Bill's house. And he invited all of YOU in for dinner. Then when everyone sat down, he decided to walk out and not feed anyone. Sh!tty thing to do? Yes. As it was HIS idea and HIS contest, was he within his rights? Sadly, yes. But worth whining about for all this time? Hardly.

Get over it. Move on. Bill seems to have done both already.

I think I started something like 3 bill stroud-related threads in the last half-year. Not sure if that qualifies as "flooding the forum". It may seem like more because there has been a lot of responses. It's obviously a hot-button topic.

And speaking of topics, you do realize that there are literally hundreds of other topics going on at any given time here on az and yet for some unknown reason you keep finding yourself visiting these? :confused:

like I said previously, and this really is the *bottom line*:

If such threads annoy you, and clearly they do, why in the world do you keep clicking on them?

The "time and energy" argument is no longer valid since far more time and energy has been spent persecuting Bill than was ever spent on any design.

It's obvious Bill has basically said :kma: to the forum hating. He HAS however provided a lot of entertainment to many here on AZ with all this. Lord knows what everyone would be doing if Bill simply delivered the cue on time. :shocked:

You could pass these threads, and go on to a different one. Yet you choose to jump in. It's obvious why.
