I'm looking to bring Keith McCready out of retirement, Earl Strickland, David Howard, and I'm sure Efren would love to have another shot at me.
Now THAT'S a ring game!

Shane beat Johnny in the finals of the Reno Open in 2007.
Other then the last TAR match, has Shane and Johnny matched up outside of a tournament before?
If Mike played CJ, I'll take Mike for a buck or two.
shane is great just read its everwere how good he is .he couldnt beat johnny in his prime on any table.sarcasm
Your right, if SVB was 21 in '75 no one would have ever heard of Earl, or Sigel, or Varner or Hall or Rempe ... Johnny would have been the runner-up player of the decade and still be under review for the HOF..
Parica would have gone back home and told Efren "Don't go.. it's to hard.. you can't win.." There would have been a move to bar him from tournaments because of unfair competitive advantage... no one back then would have had the heart to gamble with him... (of course he may have refused to play because Sigel or Keith kept blowing smoke in is face...)
Unfortunately he would be about 59 now and someone on the "inter-web" would be talking about some shot maker with a big break and saying how SVB (the 59 year old version) would not stand a chance against the new guy on new equipment.. Even though he had beat the "new guy" on tight equipment, in a long race (it was rigid to take away his break... it wasn't that he was out played or anything)... but this new guy OH MAN just look at him go..
sarcasm
but he will play him on one with tight pockets. Not that I know of, Archer is hard to match up with- term wise
I don't think Archer would play Shane on a standard diamond
I didn't say he could beat or was better than Mike. I said it could not be any worse than the Dechaine horsef***ing. After 5-5, Shane won 22-6 and was up like 21-4. I am not woofing was just kidding around a little and meant no offense to Mike (although yes a little prodding).
I will gladly bet on CJ playing SVB if he is spotted 16 games in a race to 22. I am not asking for that, only clarifying what I said.
CJ, I have been reading some of your posts but I don't think I have ever read anything that might indicate your abilities now. How are you hittin' em?
Of course I have seen video of you playing a long time ago and you were great. It would be so amazing and nice if you can still compete at the top again.

Archer and Strickland excelled during that time period and they're still considered two of the best American players. I'm including C.J. with them.
[sarcasm] I can't find the sarcasm button in my text editor  how did you do that ?[/sarcasm]
I think if CJ was playing like a champion today he would be the first to use that information for marketing purposes.
I am sure he is working on it though! It will be interesting to see if he can get it back. I wouldn't bet against him!
Ken
Are you joking? I would absolutely bet against him. Boening is going to torture him worse than he did to Dechaine. I would absolutely bet against him.
Maybe this needs to get done more like boxing. One needs to earn that shot at the champ. Deshane just lost to SVB, so who ever can beat Mike deserves a shot at Shane. If CJ can beat Mike then a SVB match would not be out of line.
....
