Just wondering on what the record is on balls in the same whole and your guys view on the difficulty of it is.
Thanks Anthony
No sure, but I think the record at the DCC 1Pocket Challenge was set back in '09 by Gabe Owens. I believe he made 60 balls in five tries, but don't hold me to that.
That one might hold up for a while.

Lou was that 60 balls with out a miss or do you get some many racks and count total balls from each?
You crack them open with a solid break to one side and shoot from there until you miss. Then you rack them and go again another four times. IF you get a good spread AND the CB lands somewhere for decent start you can run a few. I know there were a lot of 50's.

Thats pretty strong.I witnessed 25 straight. 7 to finish one game. He broke making a ball next and ran 8 and out. Then the opponent broke, he made a bank and ran 8 and out again. 25 with no miss for the cash.
Thanks Lou.
So there's probably not a record for most made without a miss I'm guessing.
I'm going to guess not. Though there have been numerous cases of repeated and consecutive 8 and outs.
I think most capable 1pocket players have run a few 15 and outs (I've done it, like maybe four times) but that's usually a case of running 8, the remaining balls being wide open, and the other guy saying, "See if you can get them all." I'm sure that the uber-stars of the game giving up monster spots have run all 15 (and more) for the dough, but I'm unaware of "a record" per se.

I think that was the one pocket ghost contest.
One pocket ghost is a different game than what most think about when you talk about one pocket. The break the balls pretty open, just trying not to get too much up table. Then they run as many as they can in the one hole before they miss. The total score after 5 tries is your score.
75 is a perfect score, so Gabe did very well. I recall a few higher scores though. I witnessed 2 perfect 75's at the BCA trade show back when it was in Charlotte. They were on a diamond 7 foot too. I'm not sure if that makes it easier or harder, but it was great to watch.

Giving up a spot, I broke and made a ball on the break and ran what I needed and my opponent said to keep shooting. I ran all 15 and then made a ball on the next rack and continued to ran 14 balls and missed an easy shot on the last ball. So I ran 29 without a miss.
I thought making a ball on two back to back breaks was the lucky part.
I heard that when the "5-rack 1P shootout" first came to San Francisco, lots of people lost at 20. Varner went to 35 or so depending on the table. I've heard that Hopkins could go to 40. I've also heard of a 72 in practice on a 9-foot table. That was a fairly common proposition years ago.I won a ton of cash getting guys to bet on like 18 or 20 in 5 racks. It just sounds easy you just have to average 4 or 5 balls a rack but it is really hard to beat. You can do it a few times but you will go bust if you try playing it all day. Danny D. when he was playing his best could do 27 fairly consistently but still not enough to win. He would just stay around even. ...
