Bonus Ball

Am I the only one who thinks its funny as hell that he keeps calling him Dave. If he is doing it on purpose to troll its even better.

Such a great thread

Dammit, you are really gonna make me spend money on TAR for two weekends in a row?

Damn you and your high level all round matches....

:-)

I will tell you the truth!

Barry, as I mentioned, we have communicated before and I found your comments at that time fair and balanced.

I, for one, would like to get a history of the evolution of this game. Who came up with the idea, the genesis of that idea to the point that the pro league was to be unveiled in Las Vegas. It will, I think, provide a more positive picture of the original vision.

With respect I would ask that, if you decide to answer my quetion, that you try not to include the current issues that you have already outlined here in respect of the current situation as I think that this has been covered enough.

I do think that the original conception and genesis to the point I indicated would be interesting and perhaps serve to put at least intention of the project in a more positive light.

3k is probably more than some of them have made this year in any one tournament they have played in along with having to spend much more in expenses and entree fees along with actually having to perform and win matches too. So basically when TAR puts up a few grand to the players to play for 3 days it does not help the players you are saying or Accu-stats putting up a grand per match for the 4 days the MIH went on for with some players winning 2-3k. I am sure the players had a good Christmas with that money they were given.

The difference is when TAR or Accu-Stats puts up a few grand the players get paid EVERY TIME they fly in. I talked to one player who had to burn all kinds of money on change fees/cancelled tickets with the moving target of a start date. We also dont tell them to be ready to start playing in November and leave them hanging for six months.

Also you make it sound like that $3k was passed out as a Christmas bonus. It was the only thing that kept the whole thing from exploding right then and there. It was a pay off to keep the players from jumping ship. The players deserved at least that much for all the yo-yoing back and forth they had to fade.

If you really want to compare some entity that hasnt done anything at all yet to TAR and Accu-Stats I'm your huckleberry. Personally I think you really should listen to several people in this thread and just quit while you are ahead.

I'm looking forward to these two matches. Alcano and Efren are supposed to be here to watch tonight. If a plane crashes into the studio about half the pool talent on earth will be gone.

Boxing was fun back in the day then MMA came along(its as legit as WWF/WWE HulK Hogan stuff) not to say boxing is always on the square either, but it was more fun I thought anyway

Glad to hear somebody say that about MMA. Yes, guys do get hurt at times, but the thing is almost comical to a real fight fan like myself. It's unbelievable to me that folks would watch this circus show but have little interest in world-class pool.

The current issues from this point are now dead to me. Im being sued so, finally...I have a response from the president. It was hard finding out who this new lawyer was. Done! AKINS, MacAULAY & THORVALDSON LLP law firm in Winnipeg. Apparently, so expensive that John would not provide me with that information because they would charge him $300 for my phone call. Yawn...such old shit! That was my main goal once false slanderous statements started flying. Thank you Dan Lewis, friend of Nathan and Dave whom obviously fed him this ridiculous shit! I actually have another few amazing law suit stories to tell you, as Im sure Eric can sit down and teach me a thing or two! I actually think they would make great reading along with this story, the great train wreck. Anyways....a duel book of amazing ways of winning lawsuits by just simply fighting them yourself and being honest! A judge will always help you out if your out of line, intiminating or just plain stupid. The truth will always win out. That is what judges are very keen on doing, seeking out the truth...and no $500 an hour lawyer will beat an honest man in court! Just a little advice if your going to court. DO it yourself, do your home work and bring the facts! FACTS! You have a 90% chance of winning!

This game was supposedly Larry Chiborak's idea, many many years ago, but several people say otherwise. Apparently, he found some investor to fund him $300k, so he told me and he spent over a million himself trying to market this game. Again, this is what he told me! It went from zero to nothing and was limited to a side show at his very successful billiard halls, Triple B's Billiards. Paul Potier and Mike Massey helped him design the game back then, he told me. They did a good job but not good enough. The game was good but more like One Pocket, a lot of defense, tied up balls and well not a very refined game. Very hard to watch!

I met him when I was playing Eight Ball in the Super Vegas league in Winnipeg. I hated getting run-out and playing only 6-10 shots a night in league. I started playing Snooker in Winnipeg with a friend, Cory Martel. He was also tried of playing Eight Ball at his level of play, which was even higher than me! I loved Bonus Ball and the strategic nature of the game. I liked it so much, I became partners with Larry Chiborak to market this new game.

Cory Martel was one of the best in the city. Cory Martel actually won the first ever MAPT (IPT...wow, never realised the similarity of those initials) event that I directed using Eight Ball, Bonus ball and finished with Nine Ball in a race to15! race to 7 Eight Ball and a race to 5 Bonus ball with Nine Ball being the game to finish up the race! Cory actually won the championship without ever shooting a ball in the final game! Kevin Zubko and Cory martel were tied 14-14 and Kevin broke and almost ran but boobled the nine ball right over the hole! Wham, Kevine sent the nine ball off the table in discust! As many other rotation players have! The players did like playing Bonus Ball more than the other two because the game was more strategic. Kevin could not beat Cory in Eight Ball but he did in Bonus ball. Kevin was a thinker! A very good thinker.

You know, I actually am writing a book on all this.

Ok. Larry and I both retired from our businesses, I still liked his game and we sat on the porch of my house and shook hands that we would form a partnership and develop this game. Being retired, it seemed like a fun way to spend some free time. Oh my god! Wrong! It was very hard and stressful work! We needed capital and bothe Larry and I did not want to risk our own money at this stage of our lives. Larry approached me that he had found two investors to give us $250k for 20% of our company. I needed to sell him 30% of my portion and he would incorporate a business and for only taking 20% of the shares, I would recieve a salary. This gave him control. Jesus, what a mistake! Speeding ahead to the WPBL. Larry had given up and I was frustrated about this. He was building decks and I was racing cars. I wanted to continue progressing because we did have two investors that were counting on us.

I actually bought him a plane ticket to Chesepeake and we discussed making this fun again. How much fun it would getting our own venue in Las vegas and having pros play in it! We got to Chesepeake and he started his pitch to players about building a 3 million dollar project. I listened and then I went out shooting pool. Shook my head and shook it some more. # million? I had to pay for the dam plane tickets. I did not have 3 million. When we flew back, he had gotten some agreements from pro players that they would support his new league. Where do we get the money, Larry, I asked? Don't worry, I will find it! What, me worry?

I apoligize that this is not my very best writing but I'm exhausted from all this nonsense myself! Sorry Jerry! Send me your number and I will talk to you personally. barry@playbonusball.com. I need to go dune buggy riding! It just too dam hot to keep typing in this dam car that I live in! WINK

We now shall skip way forward. No fun! FADE TO BLACK!

Here is something, I know Larry C and Larry C knows me (Not well but enough) I also know Barry B and Barry B knows me. I also know alot of the players who are scheduled to play Bonus ball. I hear both sides to this whole situation and as much as I want to believe one or the other I am still in the situation where I have no proof either way as to who is actually telling the truth. Actually Barry B is in kinda the same spot to a certain extent because they have not responded to him and so although he is uncertain of if they have the money or not he can't be 100% but he knows I imagine more that just about everyone on here at this point.
I am not on anyones side in this and I have spoken vey little on this whole fiasco. As I always say I want this to work and hope that everyone gets to go home with a little bread in their mouth as Rockerfella said.
I think I understand Barry enough to say this and I think he understand me enough to not take offense to some of what I am about to say. BUT Barry can be a little crazy from time to time he has a tendancy to open his mouth at the wrong time and say the wrong things and he is getting and taking alot of shit on here. Here is what I hope EVERYONE on AZB forums remember. Lets just say that Barry isn't as crazy as some may think. lets say he actually knows something here that nobody else knows including my friends Lenny, Nathan, Archer, etc. What if he is right??? I just hope that everyone will look back and say "Shit, Barry was right, he warned everyone and we didn't listen to the right guy." He should be able to hold his head up high in the pool world that he found out a problem and tried to warn against anyone getting hurt.
Now having said that, this is a double edged sword and if it turns out that Bonus Ball/WPBL is as sound as they come then Barry may have to do alot of explaining. Alsthough he is just saying Hey watch your back there MAY be an issue get your money up front.

Thanks Barry, well answered

Thank you Mark for the kind words! Of course I can get a little crazy when someone talks stupid, attacks me or down right lies about Bonus Ball. :eek:

However, Mark, you must know by now, I love Johnny Archer and Jesus, the USA and NASCAR racing. Im the good ole guy that some slick, well dressed, shiny shoed salesman, trying to take the rest of my shares of the company away because I won't lie to the players, my pool friends or my momma! :angel2: That would make sense if I did something wrong. If I got screwed by a contractor, not have a signed contract by the contractor, not smart enough to see your getting your chain yanked. Hire a graphics company for big money that can't hold a crayon properly, hire video guys (not Runout media) that don't know lighting and the list goes on and on. If I spent 1.3 million and have yet to open a venue, league or a pool hall! Yes, fire me, take away my shares and banish me into hell! That was Larry, not me!

Well, I will lie if it suits me but what the hell do I gain if I'm right about all this...respect from the whole industry except from Dan Loser and Brittnay Spears! If I'm wrong, Im still a millionaire and I get to see my game and my favorite pool players making big money! Yes, people can come up to me and say well, they f... you and made millions, yes but you want to go play some Bonus Ball! LOL I drive a new vehicle, I have winter vacations, I race beautiful fast cars...I got a real great TNT Falcon Breaker and a state of the art, Tiger shaft! What the hell else do I need. More money...no thanks! Im happy being poor!

Buy what little shares I have left Chiborak. Have a bit of decency in you. Nothing is free in life. You want the shares...make me a fair offer. Get all your buddies to throw in $5k and that will be a down payment and you can give me $1 a year until this company makes a profit. I love Bonus Ball and this concept. Be a man and fix this wrong!

You see, it is a win-win deal for me. I can't lose and only the players can lose if they don't listen to me. Ignore my rants, they could go home broke. Listen to me, you are a guarenteed winner. Chiborak will find the money if he has too. He's as slick as they come. It just takes time to find the kind of money he needs. I'm not saying to anybody, to quit on him, Im saying, get the money! Show me the money! Honey, I want the money!!! He knew I was a great guy, hard worker and I would trust him. He now what's it all because...I am a screw up! No, I told players the truth...I can't really say he has the money because he won't show me the finacials of any company, let alone my company!

So...maybe you need to look at me players and people....nobody wants to get shafted and in business, which this is...there is no need! Get the funds in trust. Have him fly you in! If he can't produce, they will find the funds. It's too late to stop now! He needs the players to launch! This is democracy at it's best. You want to play me...you have to show me the money! :tongue: Barry Bremner is expendable, I already made his game awesome. I already did a test league and really, everyone will enjoy watching this concept. It's mine. Will the WPBL make money...probably not. Is that bad for Chiborak...not totally if he can find the funding but it will be a large number! Players...he needs you. Be nice and just ask for your money up front! It's simply good business. Learn from me! Nice guys can finish last!

If you don't consider MMA "real fighting," what would you call real fighting? (its as real as it can legally be)

its real, sometimes, other times they "choose" who wins to sell a story line or drama, same thing in boxing. both are "dirty" sports that way. always has been always will be. same as dumps in pool.:frown:

Just for general information: Link to a good legal resource site

Three of the four elements that must be proven by the claimant in order to prevail in a defamation lawsuit are: 1) statement(s) must be purported to be fact and be false 2) intent/negligence on the part of the defendant 3) plaintiff must have suffered actual damages. The fourth one is the publication and/or communication of the statement(s) to a third party. J

Defamation

Overview

Definition

Any statement, whether written or oral, that injures a third party's reputation. See, e.g. Buckley v. Fitzsimmons, 509 U.S. 259 (1993). The tort of defamation includes both libel and slander.

To establish a prima facie case of defamation, four elements are generally required:

1) a false statement purporting to be fact concerning another person or entity;

2) publication or communication of that statement to a third person;

3) fault on the part of the person making the statement amounting to intent or at least negligence;

4) and some harm caused to the person or entity who is the subject of the statement.

Definition from Nolo’s Plain-English Law Dictionary:

A false statement that harms a person's reputation. If the statement is published, it is libel; if spoken, it is slander. Most states have retraction statutes under which a defamed person who fails to seek a retraction from the publisher, or who seeks and obtains a retraction, is limited to compensation equal to the actual (or special) damages. Public figures, including officeholders and candidates, can only prevail in defamation lawsuits if they can show that the defamation was made with knowledge that it was false or with reckless disregard for the truth. (See also: libel per se)

So do I and will stand for him 8 days a week. IDK WTF is going on, I pray for the liar here, who ever it is.

There is only one liar on this forum. That has to be me, but really am not a liar...I said I don't know if he has the money or not! He won't show me! Larry won't speak to me. Yes, he yelled at me for telling players I don't know if there is a million dollars there for you! He sent me a letter from his lawyer suing me into the ground. Nathan, Fast Eddie, Dan Lewis, Brittney, Dave McColl and anybody else who thinks they may have a job if this launches won't confirm he has the million dollars. Ask yourself this, what the hell is a 56 year old, well educated, great pool player standing up and being a dam liar! It is not something I need to do but Tommy Kennedy, Stevie Moore, Lee Brett, Brandon Shuff and many others are losing money here and hurting. It is dam well all I can stand! Players, ask for your cash in trust. Free great advice!

Eric...I could use your business and legal advice here....:o
