Emily Duddy VS Ine Helvik match Amway Cup March 2013

fully clothed or....?

Yes fully clothed - have some respect. I was saving myself for her til our wedding night.

I blame Mark Griffin for Tina agreeing to marry this California guy. With the BCAPL tourney pushed back to July, that was just too much time in between Tina and me meeting again. I knew I should have called in sick to work the day she was in St Louis hanging out.

Here you go Bobby - no lingerie or bikinis needed to show how hot she is. Just jeans, a white t shirt and a sweater. And I know she was thinking about me when she took this pic. I can see it in her eyes.

A long road to greatness...

I started this post in connection to someone else's post on a match from September as "my speed". I posted this match to show one that was more recent for those interested and I talked about the ways in which I've been trying to improve after learning from that match (which some people might find helpful). I was also looking for more constructive critisim, I feel like I definitely found some in this thread and I really appreciate it!

I am not saying that I am at the level of the top players yet, NEVER have I said that. I refer to myself as a great player because in my definition of that term I am and everyone is entitled to define things differently for themselves. I take no offense if you don't think I'm great, nor do I care. I am currently an exempt touring professional ranked 20th on the WPBA which by some standards (and currently the only's women's professional tour in America) would define me as a female professional player. I am ranked 8th amongst women professionals in the US (of course only those in the WPBA rankings) and have represented our country in 2 world championships. At this current time you have very few female US players amongst the best in the world and even less that can afford or have the desire to travel internationally. In each world championship you may have only 1,2 or 3 US players and frankly as an American I am always rooting for them because they need it and deserve it.

American players are currently the underdogs because we are going against players that have support from their country, their government and their culture. Many players at the Amway Cup had their coaches there, had everything paid for and only play pool for a living. I work 40-50 hour work weeks to pay for travel & entries, squeeze in practice 3-4 days a week, work with a coach one day a week, play in a straight pool league, captain a BCA 9 ball team and sleep and have a life when possible.

For me Allison, Kelly, Jasmin, Ga Young, Karen and countless Asian champions are beyond great. They are champions, accomplished & renowned. I consider them so much more than "great players".

I have come a long way and I still have a long road to reach the caliber of all these amazing women, most of whom I am friends with and whom I have the highest level of respect for.

I believe that the US culture will evolve into a more supportive place for Billiards and its players one day. I will do my best to help the progress as well. Thank you everyone for your comments and keeping me intellectually stimulated! Please introduce yourself if you ever see me at an event!

This will be my last post on AZ for a little while, it can be addictive! I will keep reading comments and PM's though!

Cheers!
Emily

Good ole Tina POW! Haven't heard of her playing in a while. She cutting back, or worse, quitting?

And I'm Polish, so I had better odds than watchez or cleary!!

Hi everyone it's Emily Duddy again :)...

Since footage of me shooting has been posted from September 2012 during the NYC Ginky Memorial I thought it might be best to post something more recent. Overall there is not much footage of me in competition over the last 11 years online, especially since I've significantly improved the last few years and another jump in the last 6 months.

I must say that I've worked on a lot on some things since that event, particularly after watching the footage of myself shooting. Prior to that I had never analyzed my own match so subjectively and encourage all player to do it. I did not play my best in that match even though I won and I did certain things very poorly. In the end I learned a lot after I studied it:

I realized that my rhythm was inconsistent and often too fast, that my preshot routine was not solid, my stroke changed too often and that I elevated my cue too much for no reason.

I began to extensively focus on those things, practicing more and working on certain routines. I also started comparing my approach at the table to the top female champions and found subtle differences that I've been trying to work on.

The match I've posted is from the Amway Cup World Championships last month in Taipei, Taiwan. Aside from first rack jitters I feel like my improvements show themselves when you compare my style of play to the posted match footage from September. Not only do I win the match 7-3, but I feel like I maintain control of the match, keep a stable rhythm, maintain my pre shot routine and shoot very well in many areas.

When my match from the Ginky Memorial was released, I read the comments posted on YouTube and considered the feedback which analyzed and criticized my game. In addition, over the last few months I have gotten great tips and advice from strong players that I have been trying to incorporate into my style.

I am constantly seeking to learn and improve as a pool player, and however harsh some of the banter regarding my play may be at times, it often holds some truth. I am grateful to receive feedback that is positive or brutally honest because I choose to listen to the useful parts and stay emotionally neutral. I think every person should always strive to evolve and become stronger in all aspects of themselves. I'm not scared of the truth, i use it to my advantage.

Thanks for watching guys and thanks for your support of pool!

Cheers!

Emily you play very good (you will get better and better all the way to the top) your stroke is the best in the game today.

You got great style and the looks to go with it, A Beautiful women breaking and running out, well thats just BEAUTIFUL!

I wish the best for you in pool, if you stick with it, that stroke you have will get you to the top!

Yes, finally getting married for the first time - my turn to jump off into the deep end. Don't worry, I will always love watchez, cornerman, and Cleary's knee. That's just who I am.

Now, back to discussing Emily's skirt.

Name 3 women that have a better one, Emilys stroke is perfect!

Please dont say Korr or Fisher!

Which both have great strokes, but not like Emilys!

Monika Webb, Sarah Rousey, and the same girl who beats her 7-0 in the second match of the AmWay Cup.

See Cleary. ALL of me. But just your knee.

Tina - we had so many opportunities while in Vega$ that you didn't have to say now 'finally getting married'. Elvis would have done a fine ceremony for us.

Now with Tina taken and smitten with California guy it looks like I'll have one dinner night open in July so I'm taking applications.

I never said she played as good or better then anybody, those women play much better then Emily, reread my post, i said Emily has one of the best STROKES in pool today, nothing about her being the best, which she is aways away from being that!

Hopkins has one of the worst strokes ever, but is one of the best all around players of all time!

Now maybe one of you just mite understand what iam talking about?

Now, back to discussing Emily's skirt.

You mean the potential "wardrobe malfunction." That's why the WPA has silly rules about the skirt must cover the knee. The gawkers and liberals want to do away with such "outdated" rules.

The OP would prefer to play in tournaments "dressed to kill" in her mini-skirt and boots. However, someday she may learn that it's better to dress to win than to kill.

What, can't do both?
