Hey there, Robin, I'm glad you were a part of it too. The part after the shot is the best part of the video we have, it shows Earl break his cue and give John McChesney a big hug......that was amazing for a variety of reasons.
I'm so glad we captured this moment on film, it's not "Accu-Stats" quality, but it's good enough to see everything that went on in that brief minute.....it was the most exciting moment (that wasn't staged) I've ever seen or experienced in pool.
That is a great pic. What the picture doesn't show being almost at eye level with Earl, is that the table was completely surrounded by spectators, 10-20 deep on all sides, and just about everyone in the stands was on their toes. He rifled the ball in....and what followed was complete and utter pandemonium. I wrote a story about this on AZ years ago, but can't work the search thing very well.
Anyways, it is now a legendary tale, and I was glad to be part of the event.
