Larry Chiborak???

I don't have a personal vendetta against Johnny, I just think he screwed the pooch and ALL OF THE PLAYERS involved are affected because of him. I wish I could say half of the things I know... but I cannot.

I appreciate the half you do disclose! Retain, the really juice stuff! You said enough for me to draw my own conclusions. "The FACTS are the Teacher"!!!

If the game is the teacher then we are going to have a shitload of uneducated dumbasses in the poolhalls. Oh wait....

e key thing is they players are trying and not bowing down to their oppressors

You don't need to recognize my name or know who I am. Everyone else knows who I am. I don't have a personal vendetta against Johnny, I just think he screwed the pooch and ALL OF THE PLAYERS involved are affected because of him. I wish I could say half of the things I know... but I cannot.

I've yet to call anyone any names or slander anyone. Is Johnny the president of the ABP or isn't he? I've already posted the job of the ABP. I'm simply stating facts. I wouldn't expect you to understand.

I'm sure we can all disclose slanderous stuff about other people if it would only help us feel better about ourselves......maybe it does in the short term, but ends tragically.

I guess I have empathy in my heart for Johnny and all the players because I have an outside perspective - it's not difficult to see how they are being oppressed unnecessarily. The game would be generating millions more a year with a reorganization plan implemented.

The life it takes to get to be a champion player is not the "softest" most gentle road to take. Many of us have been robbed at gunpoint, stabbed, double steered, dumped, knocked, slandered, etc. so not getting paid a couple weeks salary is almost a laughing matter (most of us have never had a salary;)) .

The key element (that I believe essential) is players are trying new ventures, and not bowing down to their oppressors, and that takes a lot of courage and heart, I salute all of them for that. When they continue to be willing to "break the mold" they will have success.....this is how it works in real business, few people succeed right away.

Though the process of developing this "heart" we learn some important things about life, people and core human issues - through the game.....the game of performing well under adversity and/or adverse conditions.

Someone that hasn't walked in their shoes would not relate to the satisfaction of overcoming specific obstacles and identified challenges.....it's not about money, it's about far more valuable attributes and qualities. 'The Game is our Teacher'

CJ - you keep saying that Cleary is slandering JA.

Please state ONE ITEM that Cleary stated that is slanderous?

You might not like the fact that Cleary brought up the issue of the ABP and their mission statement not being carried out by their leader because you personally like JA. I think most people personally like JA but it doesn't mean he carried out what he stated the ABP would promote as an organization.

Beyond that, if you accept the fact that as a Pro Player you have been mistreated and it is OK because you will be mistreated again - that is the big issue here. I said it before, Pro Pool needs to stop trying to nail jello to a wall. Get organized, find a leader that can lead you and not just because he is the best player or one of the best, and get what you want out of your career. Most of us here are pulling for the Pro Player but can't help but notice that they continue to step in it time and time again.

I guess it's very possible you don't know or even understand what slander is... but I've done nothing of the sort. I've simply stated facts and given opinions. I've yet to say anything about Johnny that was untrue. I simply said that he is the president of the ABP (true). That the goal of the ABP is to represent the players and protects them by assuring they get paid (true) and that the players got screwed and that IN MY OPINION the ABP should have done something to prevent this.

But you can be sure of one thing, I don't need to feel better about myself. I'm doing just great. I do, however, feel bad for my friends who got the shaft from bonus ball.

Every time you said "the game is the teacher" an angel dies. (fact)

I have never mentioned your avatar name.

I have never mentioned your avatar name (or anyone else's for that matter). Johnny's name is the only one being mentioned, and Larry, but I don't know him very well.

Johnny is still in good standing as far as I can see.....this will all work out well in the end, I can assure everyone of that.....it's a bump in the road, but the journey if far from over.

And nobody mentioned your "avatar" name. It's a forum for discussing anything and everything pool related. Welcome!

Regardless... please show me where I've slandered anyone. K, thanks bro.

I don't have anything against you CJ. You used to be a good player I've heard... and that's cool I guess. I am also a fan of "Wheel of Fortune" and think you're an excellent host. But if you wanna keep up with me on here, you're gonna need to use a "touch of intelligence" because I'm lapping you buddy. Nobody wants to get lapped by the fat kid...

I don't even know that this means or how it is a response to what I posted.

You (meaning CJ) have posted that Cleary is slandering Johnny Archer. Please inform all of us one item (using a quote) that Cleary posted that is slanderous.

p.s. Yogi Berra also said - This restaurant is so popular that no one ever goes there anymore.

Johnny supported bonus ball from day one (he was getting paid to) and Johnny was the biggest part of getting all of the players involved. Johnny also is the front of the sham that is the ABP. We heard all along, "the money is there... trust me". Well, it wasn't. The ABP is to fault for that which means Johnny.

I know a lot of people really think highly of Johnny.. I used to.

This is slander, just sayin.

This is slander, just sayin.

Which part?

Did Johnny not support Bonus ball from the very start? Did he not get paid? Was Johnny not the biggest person involved getting the players to sign on? Is Johnny not the president of the ABP? Did we not hear several times that they have "at least two seasons" budgeted?

Slander is something that is untrue. From everything I know, every piece of that is true.

"The ABP is to fault for that which means Johnny." that is just an opinion, which also isn't slander. Same with this: "I know a lot of people really think highly of Johnny.. I used to."

The confusion is that I don't think CJ is using "slander" in the legal sense, which is how Cleary seems to be interpreting it.

Replace "slander" with "denigrate" or "put down" and see if it makes more sense to you, Cleary.

Rather than Cleary having to replace someone's words with another to make sense, the person could just use the correct word in the first place, let alone keep repeating it when asked about it...

Throwing around words like libel or slander is asinine.

I hope that you're kidding? It's not even close to being slanderous. It's partially fact, some reasonable drawing of conclusions, mixed together with a little speculation and opinion based on the first two components. It's called rational discussion and it's nowhere near slander.

You insinuate that Johnny supported Bonusball only because he was getting paid to. You have no proof of the truth of that.

You also make a public claim that he is the head of a SHAM. That is an attack on his professional character.

I'm just wondering what the solution is? Would it be putting Shane in Johnny's shoes?

I didn't insinuate anything. I said he supported it and he was being paid to. Both of those things are facts.

And Im calling the ABP a sham because it isn't doing what it was set up to do... and also, that's not an attack on him, that's an attack on the ABP.

No, putting Shane in Johnny's position is not the answer. The solution would have been for ABP to make sure the money was there before PEOPLE CHANGED THEIR LIVES for this game. That would have been the perfect solution actually.

And congrats on your copy/paste job.

It appears to me that the ABP exists only to try and regulate the US 9-ball Open.

Other than getting the added money at SBE lowered, what else have they done?

What else do they do?

I hope none of this is slanderous.
