thanks, Roger, this is a great time

This is the kind of thing I've been waiting to hear. I do hope it works out for everyone involved.

Roger

I just got word that it will work....thanks, Roger, this is a great time for pocket billiards. :D

The Great News is pocket billiards will be looked at in a totally new perspective

Not 100k gross made between all 4 of them...pitiful. Johnnyt

It's ok, they all live like millionaires without the fear of losing millions....it's the "best of both worlds". :D Happiness is the key - nobody can "buy" this feeling/emotion, it's free.

The Great News is pocket billiards will soon be looked at in a totally new perspective....the Game will finally be entertaining and exciting to watch......I know that makes everyone extremely happy....right? ......hello...anybody out there.....smile if you can hear me.....is there anybody there?

Ah, but I'm sure those totals are from tourney winnings. It wont include all the money they made as employees of Bonus Ball  :p

Hey, I wonder if it includes all the "BB" Ball sets they were given to sell ???...Surely it does not reflect the tens of thousands of dollars [sic] they are paid in product endorsements !.... C J may have finally made some sense..Lets start 'tipping' pro pool players, every time they win a match !

Nothing is new, we all know what you call a pool player, who does not have a working wife, or girlfriend.."Homeless" !

Thank you sir, you are a gentleman and a scholar.

The players I know and hang out with are doing ok from doing exhibitions, lessons, coaching, training, selling billiard equipment, cars, computers, books, consulting for bars, pool rooms, etc.....I think we all know the world is challenging right now, even brilliant college students are having trouble finding good jobs. Many are bartending, or waiting tables.

..... thank Goodness this country allows these occupations to exist where you can make a living off "tips". I'm in that business and it's a wonderful thing. "where there is a will, there is a way to make money, as long as you provide more value than what you receive things will work out ok"..

Creating value is the American way and it's done in many ways, shapes and forms in pocket billiards and all other sports/games....that's the "secret" to making money in these trying times ....and it's more about being willing to visualize outcomes and goals and then letting it happen naturally. I'm sorry Mr. Wil-ey, I must be a little slow...Please tell me,..What color is the sky in your world ?

The sky is usually blue here in Texas.....today it was a bit gray and overcast.

And, as you know, SJD, everyday is a beautiful day when you can play 'Two Shot Shoot Out' , the world's greatest pocket billiard game. :D

IN ALL SERIOUSNESS, where there's a will there's a way and i hope it's found

Of course there's a way, although it will naturally take a "paradigm shift".

Pool has many strengths, and a balance of weaknesses. The more we explored the game and how it's been presented it's obvious that the balance is extremely "out of whack" towards the least entertaining qualities - it's mysterious how this happened.
paradigm-shift.jpg

For all those that think the "Pros" are responsible, you may be right, however, the blame should not be directed towards this generation.....or even mine. It appears the biggest trends were set in the 70s and 80s at the same time golf, tennis, football, and basketball were creating their TV Format.....the "pool world" was side tracked it appears.

If the game's best side would have been shown in 1986, the movie 'The Color of Money' would have had even more impact. There was certainly an opportunity to take the game to a much higher level (but the game was inadvertently diluted), and now there's another chance, it will be interesting to see what happens. Sorry, did you want the more detailed answer?

As usual...Swoooooooooooooooooooosh !

Sorry, did you want the more detailed answer?

The sky can turn a multitude of colors such as red, orange, purple and yellow (especially near sunset or sunrise) when the light must pass through a much longer path (or optical depth) through the atmosphere. Scattering effects also partially polarize light from the sky, most pronounced at an angle 90° from the sun.
220px-Rayleigh_sunlight_scattering.png
Scattered light from the horizon travels through as much as 38 times the atmosphere as light from the zenith, causing it to lose blue components, causing a blue gradient: vivid at the zenith, and pale near the horizon.[8] Because red light also scatters if there is enough air in between the source and the observer, these longer wavelengths of light will also scatter significantly, making parts of the sky change color during a sunset. As the amount of atmosphere nears infinity, the scattered light appears more and more white.

Sorry Joey..if you haven't learned yet..Mr. Coyote (excuse me, Mr. Wil-ey) is not big on providing 'details' !..He will however, dazzle you with his clever footwork, while he avoids making any sense at all !..Sort of like a John Barton, who can actually play a little !..If you provoke him, he will write a barrage of posts on that very subject..(his version of a 'beat list' ya know)

That's why he is known as "Tootsie" (oops, wrong Hoffman movie)--I mean "Rain Man", to us sensible 'non-savant's' !

This open letter is offensive. I am surprised at all the "piling on" posted in response. This letter speaks more about the author than the status of pocket billiards. We all learn about ourselves in our lowest and most trying moments. It is at these moments that true passion, character, and leadership emerge. This gentleman very eloquently narrated his exit. I get it. "I don't like the way all of you play. I am picking up my toys and leaving. I am not coming back until I like what I see".

He advocates unity behind a monarchy. This is not the American way. The turmoil in our sport is rooted in declining popularity. Right now, nothing is working. Competing ideas, competing concepts, and competing organizations is how our system rolls. Freedom to choose pulls the best out of our innovators. If and when a concept proves overwhelmingly successful, the entire industry will quickly fall in line behind it.

I appears more that he got the bug, and ''their ain't no cure'' syndrome. Like many that jump into our arena, it looks so beautiful, and simple and creative as it becomes an addiction that plays out thru time. I vaguely remember when he came on the scene, but knowing the Norm for outcomes of this type I didn't follow this venture, but from bad comes good and all that. His efforts clarified matters and put things into a New perspective from a ''non hard core'' pool players point of view, I found that refreshing and Very motivating and we'll see how it plays out.

Sad part is with a wife and kids or girlfriend relying on them to add to the madness!

In some cases you may have that one backwards, I imagine many pool players must lean pretty
hard on the wife and girlfriend to bring home the bacon and keep them from being homeless.
But pool's a pretty macho world and I don't guess we'll hear too many players say
"I let my girlfriend cover my living expensives so I can go live my dream".

Here's a joke for any muso's out there.

the professional status in sports determines the health of the entire industry.

Sometimes in business it's better to do a complete re organization......Pro Billiards is in that situation, it's in "chapter 11"... like it or not the professional status in sports determines the health of the entire industry. This is true with the NBA, NFL, PGA, and professional baseball is even touted as "America's game" with "baseball, hotdogs, apple pie" etc.

When something can't be fixed it must be tore down and rebuilt in a different way.

This is what we see coming and it's actually exciting, it's tough for me to watch the Game and it's participants struggle and suffer with no foreseeable change. Change is good, however, it takes one important quality - Willingness......willingness to believe it can happen....then belief that it will happen, then faith that it will continue to happen.

Isn't this exactly what Bonus Ball has presented to the professional pool players?

That willingness, belief and faith are exactly what is required to effect change.

Problem is, it is also what's required of the "mark" in an effective scam.
