I have moved to West Virginia, and mentioned to a guy out here that I thought Scooter was from the area.

He got real pi$$ed off at me and told me he was from OHIO, or KENTUCKY, but for sure as hell, he wasnt from West Virginia....

After he cooled off a little bit, he said that the last time he played Scooter he played for 2 pounds....I thought WTF? I am thinking British pounds or maybe even drugs....I kinda didnt want to ask more but I couldnt help it, I had to ask.

What the hell do you mean you played for 2 pounds? He said he played Scooter for 2 pounds of change....

That my friends is our Louie Roberts Award Winner....we sure can pick em.

So Im assuming the 2 pounds only contained quarters? Do these guys already know how much 2 pounds equals in cash?

Edit: After a quick Google search a pound of quarters is about $20. So they were playing for $40.

Everyone here claims Larry Price, and Jerry West.

They made it perfectly clear he wasnt from West Virginia. :p

LOL

Change: the only thing you can be sure of.

I don't that bet is in the spirit of obama's hope & change platform. More like hope IN change.

What if it was 2 pounds of pre-date silver dimes or what if there was one of them supposed non minted 1913 (I think it was) nickels in there.

Scooter is from Cleveland but his family lived in Huntington at least when he was a teenager. IIRC

Ken do you sing 'Take Me Home' every night before bed...

You laugh but I swear to God this is a true story. I was at the local pool hall here and West Virginia football is on, and WV wins the game.

The whole place goes nuts and starts singing that song! I swear that is the truth.

The guy I am playing and I stop playing pool and I ask do they do that after EVERY GAME ?!?!?

Just as smooth as cucumber he says, No, just if they win.

OMG, just as long as I dont hear a guy on a banjo I am good.
