Funny story, at least IMO: years ago a friend of mine went to a show to see the comedian "Gallager", you know, that crazy guy who's act seems to center around him smashing watermelons and other fruit with a sledge hammer and spraying the audience with pieces of fruit. Well, my friend sat in the front row and, sure enough, got sprayed with cantaloupe or melon.
Wouldn't you know it, in spite of knowing what was going to happen here, he was surprised and upset. Hello....that's the act. What do he expect?
Here there is no price for a ticket to a really good show and we should be grateful to Rhea for inviting us to "travel" along and be part of her saga, but if you want to watch the free Rhea show, I guess getting "sprayed" occasionally is a small price to pay for a great seat to a great show.
Let's just hope that it's not too often.
Enjoy it.
Rhea is a very honest person and fun to be around in real life, The internet might be a little difficult to see this side.
She did go back in her life on the thread and expose some things that she did that might be considered a little shady but that is over a lifetime.
In some of the same situations many of us might have reacted the same way,
I'm sure we could all come up with a moment or 2 in life that we're not real proud of. But we learned from our mistakes.
In the 3 months that I was with her on the road trying to teach her how treacherous some players can be she screwed up by trusting them and got burnt real bad. I let her have it by coming down on her hard. There is no replay so you have to try and get it right the first time.
She learned some and made a mistake with this guy she felt. Or maybe didn't get back in time to play. Either way she felt she was in a bad game. Another trap.
No excuse, just trying to survive out there on the road.
Just think for a minute, limited ability, traveling on the road playing the game that you love everyday so you can to get better to play with the pros someday maybe.
It's a tough dream and she's living it.
I myself am enjoying reading the thread myself.
I don't have a dog in any of these fights and feel kind of bad when my integrity or hers for that matter is attacked for trying to explain how it is out there.
Walk on her shoes out there for a week and see how you like it. No car, a cue stick and a dream.
You might just be real happy after about a week going back to the safe life that most of us have.
A house, wife, kids, bank account, job and many other things that go with stability.
I didn't get to watch the match either but it didn't ruin my life.
There is no book of rules out there just like there are no rules in most bar fights. Sometimes the dirtiest fighter comes out on top. Some people would say how dare that guy kick my friend in the head. That's not fair.
One of the secrets of being on the road is picking your fights correctly. The better you play the less you have to worry who you play.
I think our girl out there is doing just fine.
