When the topic of guns reaches such ridiculously high number of posts in such a short time, and despite that this is the Main Forum, it is still nonetheless AZ....which stands for billiards & pool.

At some point...now or later.........however I submit now because this is bordering on excessive in scope, regardless of any and all civility being expressed or not expressed, the sponsor is still Az which doesn't relate with gun ownership or gun control or 2nd amendment issues......it's supposed to "correlate" with pool and look at these posts.......Yeah....Sure......this has become a miniature gun forum that's lost its relativity with owning cues......Come on, don't get defensive on me......read the vast plurality, majority, whatever......but guns has become the theme.

Mr. Wilson, I respectfully submit this thread has reached its saturation point and needs to start sinking.....IMO.

Just food for thought...the biggest knock on the 22 rim fire round is that you will have a higher amount of misfires due to the rim fire design. Other than fun plinkers or trainer guns, you should stick with a center fire round. Especially if this is gonna be an "I'm not gonna be a victim" gun.

How much of a factor do you think windage and bullet drop are at defensive handgun distances?

Who would have thought that so many AZB Members have outside interests other than pool.

There was a Gun thread in NPR. It ran its course when the posters ran out of pictures, much the same as this one will.

Mr. Wilson, I respectfully submit my application for a Cooking/Recipe thread next.

Eric, you probably forgot that I live in Canada. Restricted weapons are more regulated. We have 2 outdoor ranges and one indoor. The indoor one isn't that big. We can still buy a 1000 22 LR for approx $50. The cost of center fire ammo is a bit prohibitive unless you re load.

I thought I would start off with a 22 target pistol and if I really get into it, I will move up later.

In our small cities, it isn't as crazy as Jay mentioned LA is. We don't need to carry for self defense just yet. Altho, there are times.

I would like to see our regulations loosened up considerably with much stiffer penalties for violations like Mac was saying you guys have in most States.

Not much, especially in tactical situations. Actually it makes virtually no difference... I just like to be honery...

Recently they had a gun show near my house at the armory and they had people walking the side walk in front with huge signs with pictures on Obama in a Hitler mustache and Nazi uniform and others with signs to "Take back our country" ," Obama is not getting my guns" "Obama wants to ban guns" and the rest of the same BS.

There was even a petition there to sign to tell Obama to "Keep his hands off their guns". At the same table you could join some hooky org. that was to help support your gun rights for just $35.00 a year . It is amazing just how ignorant such a mass of people can be, especially on a subject that seems to be so dear to their hearts.

How can they be so completely uninformed? I have no problems with people with different opinions as long as they are honest and sincere and not just a bunch of sheep parroting some catch phrases and spreading lies. I don't know about you but I don't like being lied to, be they friends or anyone else. These people seem to embrace being lied to, truth means nothing to them.

It is as simple as telling what you know they want to hear and then figuring how to make a buck of these dopes like staging a gun show telling them they better stock up before the ban takes place. They scary part is, there are some that really believe this stuff.

You can see them on these survival shows. Some of these people are completely nuts. I wonder what they are all doing now with their supplies they were stocking up on for the end of the world in 2012? The people who sold them all that sh!t are probably lying on a beach somewhere planning the next assault of the fools of the world.

By the way, I will take a picture of the gun show circus next time. They have one about every month or two at the armory

Technically, you could interpret the 2014 law so that you could keep a loaded gun locked in your glove box. Check it out and see if you agree. Some loose wording in how it is written. A good lawyer would have a field day with this one.

It's a grave misnomer to underestimate a .22 round. What happens when they enter a body is they bounce around inside doing damage all over. Many people have died (slowly) from only one .22 bullet. They bleed to death internally.

I was once arrested for having an unloaded gun in my glove box (the ammo was in the trunk). $5,000 later I beat the charges! :eek:
P.S. The arrest remained on my record for 10 years.
 
Did someone say that we could show our knives? OK,here is a Chris Reeve Large Regular Sebenza from 1999.The blade steel is BG 42 and it is mint/new in the original box.Kind of a Grail piece for a collector as Chris Reeve invented/pioneered the "Frame Lock" system for folding knives.

I have a banana clip full of hollow points that agree with you 100%

I'm not posting pics though. The ATF already has enough on me :wink:
 
A knife and buckle made for me by my now deceased step-brother. I have never used either and keep them in mint condition. They will either go to my son or grandson when I am gone.

And I'll add another picture of a 100 yard group I shot. The interesting thing about the group is the bullets were some I cast from scrap lead and then sized using a Lee sizing die, a hammer, and a dowel. :) Muzzleloaders are a blast!
