Why are all the selected players recognized "champions" at 9-ball and they are playing 8-ball? I know they can play anything, but aren't there some recognized 8-ball champions out there somewhere?

Efren has been in, first 8-ball iirc.

Don't recall if Dennis has.

Sometimes they all are not available.

I'll definitely be buying this one. The MIH all stars was one of the coolest pool ppvs I've ever bought. Also I like watching 8 ball. I have no idea why there aren't more pro 8 ball tournaments.
 
Yup I voted. This should be a good one.

Anyone watch the World Series tonight? Some guy named Strickland threw a tantrum on the mound. Just saying.

Great stuff. Looking forward to this. $15 per day is a steal to watch 6 top notch elites fight it out. Every match will be strong matchups.
IMHO, Darren and Shane are favorites . Darren was English 8 ball player while Shane has said 8 ball is his favorite game. But really anyone of them can win it
Is the schedule of matches posted? Race to ? Alternate or winner breaks?

Eight ball is a great Bar Table game. It has thee right amount of congestion, and every bar/league has some form of it nation wide.

Big table eight ball, for many pros is a run out fest, which many like to see, but the target audience ONLY thinks of eight ball in the states on a three and a half by seven.

In ND at Four Bears this past Spring, it was a total joy to see Shane meticulously take apart an eight ball rack when there was near Zero chance of getting out. The smaller table will allow the camera angle to be in closer and tighter....this will make a much better production, similar to Matchroom Sports with their incredibly close up clear camera work.

Eight ball on a nine footer for Top Pros is like checkers, eight ball on a tight Diamond seven footer is like chess. The more clarity and tight shots the video production is able to create, even a speck of dirt/dust on the ball or cloth, the More interesting the game is to its viewers. That was the whole principle behind the Measles ball, wasn't it???????????????????

Didn't Shane run eight racks in a row on a diamond seven footer during the decider match vs earl strickland? It's on you tube.
I'll have disagree, because on a seven footer it's way more of a run out fest for pros. The nine footer offers more difficulty in safety play and also for the pros to let their stroke out to go the distance for position. It's just a prettier game on the nine footer. Lots of cue ball movement.

I have a few dvds of previous eight ball invitational matches and they are a fun time. The matches move really smooth and the production is excellent

my eight year old son will be there with me so we won't be hard to miss. I'll definitely make sure to say hi.

At Sandcastle now. On nine foot table. First round of matches were played on ten foot table. That table is gone.

The gentlemen stated that eight ball was more difficult for the pros on seven footers because of congestion and limited space and I said Shane was running racks like there was no tomorrow on the seven foot table. See link above

The eight ball invitational will be nine or ten foot table and far more difficult

This four day round-robin event will be staged in the Aramith/Simonis Arena at Sandcastle Billiards in Edison, New Jersey. Everybody plays everybody and every match is of "finals" caliber.

Fifteen matches, all races to ten, will be played on the regulation 9-Foot Diamond Pro Am Table with Simonis 860 Cloth and Pro Aramith Balls.

The best commentators in the business, Bill Incardona and Danny DiLiberto will be providing the play by play.

This is the fifth event in the "Make It Happen" series produced by Accu-Stats.
