Who are the 'Old Schoolers' of AZ

Bob - thanks for the props...which I also read and wrote a review of your fine book. And you are another guy that I know but have never met...I don't think...and I am a New Englander like you...well I was until 1989...ha ha maybe a bit before your prime time. Good luck with your latest. Cheers and Happy New Year!

I came over from the RSB newsgroup in 2005. Guys like Lou, Pat J., Bob J. and others had great debates there. Then some nut job ruined RSB with spam (is that guy dead yet?) prolly around 2005. He called himself Shoenpepper or some crazy thing.

I spend most of my time in the straight pool forum, so nobody knows who I am.

I joined in November of 2007 and I still feel like a newbie compared to the awesome veterans of the forums.
I used to lurk RSB because I wasn't computer savvy enough to figure it all out at the time .

Happy New Year
-Steve

P.S. Those were the Bluepepper Days, and he is no longer with us on this earth.

I'm on AZ everyday and I look over the thread titles and conversation .
I don't engage as often as I did at one time but I still enjoy the site..... Most of the time

My join date reads 11-30-2005...but I self-published my little novel WONDERBOYS in 1998. Soon after that, Mike H. was cool enough to serialize it on this site one chapter (scene) each week for 62 weeks. I then became a member...so AYE I am old school here. Have posted some...not much...read forum stuff at least once a week.

Became good friend of Mike H. since that time...and we have yet to meet in person...he comes to Florida fifty times a year and zips right through Orlando without a 'by your leave.' Kicks my keister at online backgammon...but I would seriously like to play him 'live' for a dime a point. I would also take the wild 8-ball from him for a dollar a game. He is definitely avoiding me.
Great book, especially since as a New Englander I know much of the settings and some of the real-life characters. Once I read one chapter, I went ahead and got the book. Still have it.

Freddie <~~~ that's old school

That guy was one of Fast Larry's many, many incarnations.

Anywhos, I remember you, Dan, and many others from that great forum. It's funny, so many of the discussions here today are ones we hashed out 15 years ago.

I remember reading RSB, but I don't remember posting there. I was only in my early to mid teens back then so I probably didn't feel like I had much to contribute. I joined AZ back in '05 when I was in college. I'm way more active on here now than I was back then. Can't believe it has been 10 years.

Aye Aye ! There was some early revisions. Lost my screen name in the process then got it back along with a later join date. Originally joined very late 90's or early 2000's.
I'm not around much anymore, a few to many air heads for me. Still a great site though but my priorities have changed.

I guess I am old school.. this name was in 6/9/2003 was a different name for a little while before moving to socal..

Was a RSB'r before here

Been an official member of the forum since Mar 2005 however I used to view the site prior to being a member and since most of my cues are "old school" as well...I guess I can add my name to the group of distinguished "AZers".:D

I literally haven't been on in a year and I see this post on the front page like I never left! I joined one month after you!

Happy New Year Watchez!

See that proves it was destiny that we were meant to be together.....and then you had to fall in love with some So Cal guy.

Happy New Year to You Tina.
