Oddest Wrap

I have been hearing a story for years about a bar owner in Wisconsin who when he died had his skin that was tattooed removed, framed, and hung in his bar. How creepy would it be if someone wrapped their cue with it and Mooched it. What's the oddest wrap you have actually seen?

copper wire

i buy old house cues to recycle the wood, i get the 100 at a time sight unseen. last bounch i got in there was an old brunswick that had a wrap groove cut in the handle area and was wrapped with copper wire.

So if the guy went bust he had $5 cab fare on his handle

I have seen two very unusual wraps. Kickin' Chicken's Rambow (Brian) had some sort of fiberglass or tape and resin wrap. The other wrap looked like leather, but when it was removed it was actually masking tape painted or dyed black.

LOL! Bet that guy could shoot the "lights out". Hope he didn't play outside in the weather, like in the Philippines. I don't think you want to be shooting masse shots in a thunderstorm with a "lightning rod" cue.

Wrap

I seen a sneaky cue with contact paper for a wrap and it had me fooled until I looked and felt it... Looked damn good to.

Woolen Wrap

I used to play a guy who wrapped his cue with knitting wool. I think the linen came off, so he did his best to replace it.

wacky wraps

there is a lady at the super billiards expo every year playing in the tap tourney and she as what appears to be knitting yarn as the wrap for her cue. I heard her telling people it keeps her hand warm. whatever floats your boat lady lol

I just picked up a spool of gold colored linen from my grandfathers garage. I haven't used it yet, but it's very soft. I have no idea if it will look good on a cue or not, but it will make for good practice material if anything.

I have also seen cork wraps, duct tape wraps, Earl's padded tennis style wrap (which I do want to try), golf tape wraps, etc...

Is using tennis tape or grip really that odd for a wrap? It's more or less like a leather wrap that way. I mean it's not traditional and may look odd depending on the installation, but it's tacky and made to absorb moisture, and if wrapped nicely should not look that bad.

It's basically a stacked leather wrap which people use on cues.

I have a leather wrap on my current tennis raquet which is an old school regular width one, the classic Prince Graphite II, the wrap on it looks pretty good, and should look nice on a cue.
