Joe Brown from Ohio Murdered

JAM

I am the storm
Silver Member
Joe Brown from Ohio was working at a volleyball bar and grill in Ohio, mainly to check IDs and keep the peace. On Saturday, April 24th, a gang of bikers riding those off-road three-wheel bikes came, and things started to get rowdy. Grapevine says an underage girl wanted to stay in the establishment, which started the whole mess. Joe was trying to keep the peace and calm the situation. One of the bikers came from behind and hit Joe in the head with a bat, knocking him out. He died a few days later in a coma at the hospital.

The suspect has been caught and is in custody. He has been charged with murder.

Those of us who knew Joe know he was a sweet person who was passionate about pool. Here is his legacy memory. A celebration of life will be held May 3rd. If you can find it in your heart to leave a condolence message, it might bring comifort to Joe's loved ones and family. It is free ot do so. Click the link and scroll down to "Add a Memory"

Thanks for letting us know Jen, I always liked Joe, what a shame .

When you swing a freaking bat at someone's head, you're trying to kill them. I hope that guy rots in jail for the rest of his life. So sorry top hear about Joe.

Joe was a really good man who had the full respect of the Ohio pool community. Joe was soft spoken, kind and considerate, all qualities that I revere.

Just like Mike Surber before him, we MUST watch our back at all times these days. So many phony ass cowards who would do us harm by ambushing us. Even in a restaurant my back is to the wall where I can see who's coming and going. I prefer to sit in the back of the restaurant as well.

sad thing.
but no way should anyone ever try to persuade gangs to do anything. just get out of their way.
I would agree if you're just a bystander, but apparently he was the doorman. It was his job to do what he was doing, and someone thought it would be ok to kill him for doing his duty. Hitting someone in the head, from behind, with a bat, is a pretty surefire way to kill someone or at least cripple them for life. They would probably have known that and did it anyway. Hope they rot in jail.

It is indeed a sad thing.

What a horrible tale.. Condolences to his family and friends.. Hard to even make sense of something this stupid.. Hope they put the perp in for life. Eye for an eye is my feeling!

Jason Miller owns Setters volleyball bar and grill. Joe often worked security there when Jason needed help. According to local reports Joe was trying to break up a fight and diffuse the situation when he got hit. Joe will be missed enjoyed many conversations and trading stories with him over the years.

I so wish those who knew Joe would leave a condolence message on the Legacy link. It is free to do so. There are only 3 messages at the time of this writing, yet hundreds of folks knew and loved Joe. It doesn't cost anything to leave a nice note on his Legacy page. It might bring comfort to his loved ones and family.

I do the same thing and I always take note of all the possible exits.
