2017 i was playing Darren Appleton's World series of 8-ball in New York. There was 2 tournaments. Second one In finals or semifinals FSR played vs Dechaine and ran 9 and out with more difficult break and rules. Also pockets were around close to 4 inch ones.
I myself came 9th on that tournament.
It was same tournament where Melling did that craziest 8-ball run out ever..

In a tournament I played here in Shanghai, a Taiwanese ex-pro ran 8 racks (old break format), and left a difficult push in the last rack, which was handed back to him and he ran out.
One of my favorite people to watch. He's got old uncle vibes with the gold rings and big belt buckles, and is half asleep most of the time. Plays with the more upright carom style stance. Barely looks like he wants to be there.
Can't remember his name, will try and find out.

He shot a 1.000 against Daulton in Legends of 9-Ball in LA in 1996.
I witnessed Buddy Hall run a set out. It was race to 11 in a tournament. He got out to a lead but the opponent got a couple of games. It was 4-2 Hall with the opponent breaking. Opponent missed the two ball and Hall ran the set. So only like a 6.8 pack but Hall looked like he couldn’t miss. Cue ball seemed to stop dead center every break. I think he had one straightforward bank. Old school rules. Easier pockets but opponent rack with a regular rack.
Restricting this to matches that I witnessed live, I saw Souquet run an 8-pack at 9ball vs Immonen in about 2007. I saw Dechaine run an 8-pack at 10-ball vs Archer in about 2013. I saw a straight pool run of 245 by Jack Colavita in about 1985. I saw John Ervolino run a truly remarkable three pack in full rack banks in about 2003. Regarding women's pool, I was the victim of Jeanette Lee's run of 152 at straight pool in what I believe was 2002. I was also present for Robin Dodson's 5-pack at 9ball in what I believe was 1997.
