    Foxys Pool Tour

Do you have a schedule of rooms? Is it all in the same room? How many players did you have today? Did you redo the tables in your room yet?

This is the best I can do!!!!!!

Aye, but would Nick qualify if he wasn't invited just so he could have a chance at the cash? Sure thing.

This is the best I can do!!!!!!

Why don't you just qualify at some of the events to prove that you're that good? That'd be easy too. Just because someone doesn't like you and doesn't send an invitation doesn't mean you shouldn't be there, so stop a chump from qualifying. I was at a qualifier yesterday where the high run was...

    Questions

Grady, your post seems coherent and nonconfrontational. Wish I could give you a straight answer instead of flaming you like the others in this thread. Vagabond-you're really smart. Keep up the good work of getting 14.1 ousted from the South. Wish these fools would just answer a question...

Best place to live for pool

If you play well enough... most of the time the weight doesn't matter. Maybe you should get better so that giving out a ball or a game to someone you'd play even is no big deal anyway. As for everyone playing even? Wow, talk about killing a tournament. I play at a place in PA where there are...

    Whats the difference....?

No added money? False. Most tours have money added, whether it's the tour operator or the room owner. They add money because it's business (in addition to the fact that they like the players because they bring in business). As for money circulated amongst the players... have you ever heard...

Why are BILLIARD players so Disgruntled?

Talk about an ignorant thread. Running a 5 or 6 in billiards is akin to running 20-30 balls in straight pool. Incredibly satisfying to go above that. Maybe the billiards players near you are older and grumpy. I haven't found too many younger players that consistently play billiards due to...

    Backers for pool players!

Backers are essential to the game. Not only does it provide an inflow of money to the actual players, but without backers, there would be little action. People don't like to play "fair" games, and most people won't gamble their own money unless they think they have somewhat of an advantage (in...

Tournament Play? Do you room do them, or not

Many rooms do have tournaments. The ones I participate in mainly draw in people for the tournament and are nice ways for the locals to compete in a handicapped format without really paying too much. When I first started playing, the tournaments were the only competition I has (since I was too...

    I'm Back

Truth. False. Proof. Haha, well, it's funny that you're upset that you were "banned" for your incapability of expressing your "opinion" (read as 'crap') in a civil manner. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but unless adding "***** ****** *******" where the *'s represent free letter like in scrabble...

Does Anyone Here Shoot With A Cheapie Pool Cue?

Check your post and get those figures correct on Efren's cue. I think cues become much more playable once you're around $80 and up (new)... generally you can get a players or something like that for around there. Otherwise, most cues that are somewhat reputable can be found in the $200-$500...

    I.P.T. game of choice?

I believe that this is why eight ball is so popular in bars, etc. You don't have to "be good" to finish a game and run out. It's probably the only game where a player with only a bit of experience can win without the other player shooting, thus enticing them to play more and others to follow...

    One Pocket

Thanks. I've peeked at this stuff before, but right now it's not working, and I'm mainly looking for help with the last two. That does reference some good shots though. I run out well, and if my opponent gives me a shot I can run balls well, but since so much of the game is moving, I'm at a...

    One Pocket

"26. If five or more balls (the last balls on the table) are past the head string, they are spotted. If eight or more balls are past the side pockets (the last balls on the table), they are spotted." This is from the "Grady's Rules - ONE POCKET" web page. Does anyone play like this? I've...

Why is it OK to Climb on Top of the Table?

It's basically to put taller people, like me, at an advantage. Watch out for the tall players, they can play more shots, easier. Anyway, back to why it is... it has just been that way for a long time and the rule prevents people from all out laying on the table. Also, I don't think I've ever...

    Bank or Long Straight-In?

Make the straight in shot. Just do it. Banks depend on a whole bunch of things: speed, spin, angle. Just hit the ball...straight... on a straight shot... and it's in. Some banks are easier than others, but the straight shot should be the more makeable ball.

What are the "different strokes that you need to develop," per Billy Incardona?

My practice strokes are simply for me to line up the shot and to make sure the cue is sliding through my fingers freely. As for strokes, there are a few different ones I've come across. Drawing and following when elevated Regular follow through draw Non follow through Draw- closer to a Punch...

    That Darn Draw Shot

Wait, I'm not clear. Are you saying you ran 225 balls, or that you ran 15 racks separately throughout the night. 225 would be strong. Since you didn't say 225, I'll assume it was the 15 racks. Good job, all you have to do now is string them. :-P
