American Billiard Radio Special guest.

Love the one-minute pool instructional tips by Scott Lee and Randy Goettlicher. Great idea to share pool-shooting strategies. This is a great complement to the entire program.

I agree, but they are about 2 days behind me in providing the same information. GMTA I guess.

One of the KEYS to "consistency" is doing things "consistently" the same way. Their tip and MY tip concerned the SAME subject. Maybe I have ESP. Don't tell Scott Lee and Randy that I am "teaching" without a license. :)

These are great tips [pun intended], no matter where they come from. Bravo to you and to Steve and Randy.

I wish I had a car that had the capability of playing MP3 files. I could download this radio broadcast and listen to it in my car when I'm out and about. Something like this would be cool to listen to while en route to a pool event. I like the fact that you can listen to these whenever it convenient or when time allows.

Your car doesn't have to come with this ability.

If you have a smart phone, or an iPod/mp3 player, you can purchase an FM transmitter that connects to the headphone jack on your player, and transmits a signal to your cars radio. Then you can listen to whatever you have on your player thru your cars stereo system.

Most of todays vehicles now come with an "aux" port, which looks like a headphone jack. Usually somewhere on the panel near the radio controls, but occasionally in/under the armrest. If your vehicle has this, its even easier. You buy a cable and plug it directly in, no transmitter required.

Thanks, justadub. I will have to look. I have 2007 Volvo V70. It only has 11,000 miles on it. I really would like to get a new car, like a hybrid or something good on gas, but with only 11,000 miles on my 2007 Volvo, which is paid for, I feel like that may not be a good move.

I have a lot of options on my car -- moon roof, leather, seat warmers, et cetera -- but I do *not* have the six CD changer. I'm going to look for a 1/8th inch headphone jack. I am very familiar with what they look like. :D

I have been getting into audio books lately, so this would be something I might buy if my car is not equipped. Thanks for the tip!

I really like the direction that ABR is going in. It plans to cover a variety of interests in the pool world. They plan on interviewing various pool players, so that the public, who may not be familiar with them, will get to know their personalities, like what's their favorite shot or what do they like to do in their spare time when not playing pool or do they have a pet. This puts a personality into the mix, which is sorely missing in many pool venues these days. :p

The instructional advice given in the one-minute segments are very cool. Sometimes people may not be able to digest an entire hour lesson of pool, but if it's just one single thing they hear quickly and practice, it will stick with them. This is a good idea, I think.

Speaking to pool room owners, like this week's Hard Times owners, is also interesting to hear their thoughts on matters, some of which may have never entered my mind. I like this a lot. Pool room owners are struggling too, just like the rest of us in the pool world.

The promoters like Greg Sullivan, who wears two hats being the Diamond guy with the pool table expertise, is always pure gold, whatever comes out of his mouth. He knows pool inside and out. When he spoke about the pocket size, I had no idea so much was involved. It's a lot more than just narrowing the pockets. Greg is 'da man! :)

And for the cue aficionados, there will be upcoming guests that cover this area, cuemakers, cue collectors, et cetera. I'm looking forward to learning more about this area. I know very little about the art of cue-making. :frown:

I think what I like, too, is being able to listen to the broadcast when it's convenient to me. Each week will bring something new and exciting. I like this ABR radio so far. I'm looking forward to the coming weeks.

I'm listening to it on my phone right now at work. This is a really good podcast. I love it. The stuff from Greg Sullivan was really interesting and I'm only about 15 minutes in.

Call me anything...just don't call me late for dinner! LOL :D

Reminds me of I was born at night but not last night. :grin-square:

Interesting discussion on the tips. Keith uses a lot of english on his shots. He goes through tips like Grant through Richmond. :embarrassed2:

Every tournament we went to, he was *always* getting a new tip. I've never seen anybody go through tips like Keith. :p

I remember Allen Hopkins said he uses a lot of english on his shots too. Some of today's players don't seem to talk about the english or "feel shots." I wonder if it's due to the new technology utilized by Predator cues, et cetera. IOW, the newer cue technology provides a little assistance in the delivery of a shot.

And I thought my 2002 Mustang had low mileage (39000). We need to get out more. Johnnyt

I'd really love to get a new car with all the cool amenities. I especially like Ford. My brother has a Ford Taurus and loves it. I'm thinking Ford Fusion or Ford Focus. I love Fords now. They have really improved their line.

To keep it pool-related, my favorite car I ever owned -- and I've owned MANY -- was a Chrysler Fifth Avenue which was 7-ball red in color.

My Volvo is 8-ball black in color, looks like a U.S. Government vehicle. :D

Really enjoyed Keith's segment. He said something I've agreed with for a long time. There seems to be quite a few pros who seem almost like robots and a few that can go off and appear to go bat s, but hardly any that have the middle ground covered. Keith called it charisma and I agree. You don't have to be mean and throw tantrums to attract audience attention like some people have suggested. You can be smile, laugh, and project an aura of general "coolness". Pretty much like well...Keith.

Hey all! Just FYI, ABR will be airing today/tonight and I am sure there will be a post from someone letting you all know when it is up. This will not conflict with the TAR podcast as it will be on at a different time and recorded so anyone will be able to listen whenever. I will be watching the TAR podcast and looking forward it.

The next Legends and Champions Report on American Billiard Radio will be a great interview with Keith McCready. Lots of opinions, fun facts an stories from The Color of Money and other things. I hope you enjoy it.

WOW this ought to be great !

Thanks for all the kind words of support J , and this and that...LmAo

Sometimes I get really stressed about how well the show will turn out, and of course we have some of the world's most critical listeners here on Az...so it really means a lot when people let me know that we did ok.

I'm sure that we can't please everyone, and I'm sure that not every show will be stellar, but I promise you this, we will always try our best, even if it means falling flat on our faces a few times. (But let's hope that doesn't happen - lol)

Have a great weekend everyone!
