aramith cue ball cracking

Aramith owes explanation

I really think that Aramith owes it to the pool playing public to clear this up.
The people at High Country Promotions the guys that set the tables up for the APA should have some knowledge of whether it is happening with the original balls from Valley or are there counterfits out there.
I have an old one with the cougar on it I might sacrifice it to check.
These foil balls are still the best bar box ball in my opinion.
If they are made that way by Aramith and break, they should be replaced for free.

I know two different people here that have broken these cue balls as well. One was a 9-ball the other was a 3-ball.

Having said that...I'll still take these cue balls over the old slug ball any day! I just won't be buying them.

Yes, I am fine with the Green Logo Aramith Cue Ball. I have no problems with the way they play. With the exception of very old Valley tables that mess up occasionally, they work great on Bar boxes. To my knowledge I am the only one to have one crack in my league or area. A few years back they were rare as house Cue Balls in my area. Now everywhere seems to have them as the standard house Cue Ball.

Let's call it the "Crackerjack Ball"

Surprize inside.
The one I heard of was in a resturant/bar. It is not a place where it got a lot of use or abused or hit with Phenolic break cues. It was fairly new when it happened.
My guess is that they are made this way with a ball inside.
Maybe just some are manufactured defective.
So far we have a 3, 4, 9 & 15 Can anyone complete the rack?

Thats like one of those dolls that you open it up and there's another one inside it, and so on, and so on........

It would be even funnier if there was a centenial ball inside !!!!!

A flaw in the finish or any kind of non-adhesion between the layers could definitely cause more stress on the outer finish of the cue ball by way of increased degrees of motion. With a flawed cue ball, instead of the cue tip hitting the cue ball like a finger on a wooden table (no give), it's like tapping a Snapple cap (much give). Over time, that can't be good for keeping layers together and the integrity of the outer finish.

That's what I was thinking when I called it a "dradle". No wonder nobody laughed!

on the other side of the ball was a green couger. nothing chiped out on other side of ball .
I would think that means it is an original Valley ball.
Does not the couger ball only come with the original Valley barbox set?

The Cougar ball is available individually.

Very much agreed. It seems like everywhere that has leagues around here has switched to them. I played in a place with an old ball not too long ago and felt completely lost. They are a big improvement...even if the are made out of used balls. lol.
