I heard from a little birdy that if BB fails JA wants nothing to due with anymore ventures. Why should he anyway. He has a great pool room back in Atlanta. He doesn't have to play pool anymore if he doesn't want to.

He will be back out there, looking for and supporting the thing that might allow him to play for a living, instead of work for it.

He might need a little time to forget the frustration, but he has a special skill that is not rewarded/ fulfilled via bar ownership.

Two years ago, the ABP got involved with making sure the money was escrowed in advance and the majority of the players were paid on time.

Last year, the WPA told Barry that they would pull their sanctioning if the ABP were involved and the ABP was not involved with the escrow of monies. We know the results.

This year, Barry solicited the ABP's involvement in the escrowing of funds, presumably to help give the US Open some credibility after last years fiasco. The ABP responded.

Now guess what the WPA is doing.

Yes it is. Without the dead money they couldn't get 30 pros for the that tournament or any other tournament in the U.S. The dead money players should be treated better. W/O them there really would be no tournaments for the pro period. Johnnyt

If you seek WPA sanctioning, you have a certain compromise with their suggestions/recommendations. The US Open is an event attended by many players from all over the World; therefore points obtained from the Open, would help the WPA with ranking players for their own WPA Events/Championships. To me thats a win/win situation for the Open and the WPA.

One question for you jay? Are you going to be involved? Usually you put a player in, is this announcement good enough for players and fans to feel comfortable in supporting in your opinion?
