The bottom line is that right now you have to sell at a reduced price on "most" cues if you want to sell them. And on the upside, you can BUY great cues at grreat prices!! It works both ways....

Put Lil' Kenny on the ignore list to save yourself from temptation. Someone should ask him if he's having trouble moving cues.
Hidy Ho <-- never giving up on Alba
face down, face up, time for both, but if everyone continues to depend on others to make us do what is right, we're f#cked, and not the good kind.:frown:

We can start a whole face up/face down controversy (not in the For Sale section) and hopefully get some real hate going, multiple guys screaming that their POV is the only valid POV, stating and restating their truth, threats, personal insults and the whole deal.
Meantime, I'll be tooling down Coast, in my Ferrari, with Jessica (fine ass planted in that seat for the time being) by my side, tiny trunk stuffed with Szams, getting ready to stop someplace and warm her up by letting her watch me run 7 racks of 10 ball.

Point was, ya should be able to do her BOTH ways. Least back in the day. . .And if people are only going to do what is right when forced, we are sorta like . . .F .. .U . . .C . . .K . . .E. . . .D, and not the good kind.
but you knew that![]()

Absolutely right and I'll bet the cue dealers moaning about not being able to sell are playing hardball something rotten when it comes to buying their cues...
The only people who should moan about how much cues cost is us mugs. It's ridiculous what some people try and charge for a used and unwanted production cue. It's nothing but greed.
The used custom market is even more bananas.

this is what i suggest,
1- Bring cue to near perfect standards-

fresh refinish and wrap then ask for a retail price.with so much on the market you cannot sell a cue with issues unless it is heavely discounted, you can get a custom for the price of a schon now. price compare with completed auctions on ebay. and offer dealers to trade your cue and cash for something else.
we have been selling cues at a very steady rate, but the prices have to be competitive and the cue has to be without issues! Good luck on the sale or the way to find the real value is to put it on ebay starting @1.00 and no reserve!
It's all about demands and supplies. Only very few cues in the market are now liquid and only at the right prices. If I had a SW on AZ for 2500...I'm sure it will be gone pretty quick because there a high demand for them and these cues are listed at 3K plus now. Gina cues are also in high demand and it's among the best in term of play ability but lately it seem like there's bunch of them thrown into the market including SW (best time to acquire a these beauty but at the right price, IMHO). From what I see in the cue market now, there is now a better understand of cue values and some cues are starting to lose their magical appeal among buyers as people are starting to realize that they are not as liquid as they seem or hype up to be.
The cue market is actually a shrinking pie since the game itself is slowly dying with no one in the market to revive it. I've always bought cues based on their play ability first and foremost....fortunately...good investment grade cues are among the best in play ability so if you don't move them...just play with it until demand for custom cue come back or when our recession is over and people have more disposable cash to spend. It's a buyer market right now and I think you looking for get a good playing cue for the right price...now is the best time to do that.
AZ is a great market for custom/production cues...unfortunately it also kills the cue market. What I just wrote about is a good example, people thinking GINA, SW are the only cues to buy when in facts there are literally hundreds of other options to buy a high quality playing cues.
I see lots of great cues on AZ for really good prices that are been passed because it not considered to be a liquid cue. If you're someone in the market place to buy a cue to play with and hopefully enhance your game....you really need to get past the ideas of buying cues as investments. If you had a chance to try out all the cues listed, I can guarantee that you may not select a GINA or SW as your main player. You'll be amazed how some of these other cues actually can play better than big brand names cues.
I've been buying and selling cues for a while now and believe me it not a profitable hobbies especially if you factor in the opportunity cost. However, I did find that it did give me a chance to try out a variety of cues and expose myself to understand what I like in a cue. What end up as a hobby...is starting to cost me a ton of $$$ but I'm not complaining...only thing is my game is suffering from playing with a different cue every week. I still am able to win some of the local weekly tournament...so I rank my cues accordingly based on my result in tournament. Just picked up my Mike Bender and played with in the very first time and I won/split the Monday night at Steinway....so the Bender just move up on my list of top ten.
. All custom cues plays very nice and each cue have their own appeal...so you really need to try them out to find out what you like.
Good Luck with searching for your dream cue....again don't buy cue as investment...it's only going to cost you....buy cue that can play good and give you confident in your game. You'll be surprised...even a production cue can play better than a GINA or SW....so don't let name brand get in your way of finding a great player's cue.
Here's the bender that help me win one of my local tourney:
