This a pool player web site not a cult.Very different views and ideas are not only expected,but encouraged imo.

But you know...in all truth...If I found a pool site that had a bunch of gay avatars with male camel toe/dudes kissing dudes/balls on balls ect I probably wouldn't join.If I did (I wouldn't) I sure as hell wouldn't expect them to change the status quo because I had.

If you decide to take offense thats fine...but modify YOUR behavior (don't post/visit) .You expect your stance to change everyone elses opinion.Why would that be?

As a straight white male I would never expect that of any place I frequented online or real life...I'd change the place I chose to go to...

People seem to miss where I'm coming from.

I either get the "it isn't in the rules" or the poeple who just ignore them to the one's who've never read them.

People don't want a rule for every damned posibility, do they?

Just because there isn't a specific rule covering every facet doesn't mean that it is a go, just because there isn't a rule specific enough.

Just a little consideration will go a long way.


As far as removing the posters, Please read the rules.
If someone goes of the deep end and the next ten people quote them, I am looking at it just as if the person who is quoting is as guilty as the original post.

Vulgar language is a key point. I think everyone here is old enough and inteligent enough to know what is and isn't allowed.

For anyone accusing me of seeking attention with my avatar, what do all the avatars than Branpureza found garner? Not to mention the threads started proclaiming said avatars, and the pool-related threads derailed because it's peppered with the same guys e-high fiving each other with equally derogatory comments.

Oh, I guess it's because I'm an insecure female with cup-size envy.
 
I really wish I understood what you are trying to accomplish. Does acting this way make you feel better about yourself? Where you not given enough attention growing up? I know this is the attention you want. If the Az police does'nt think this crosses the line I guess I will make a choice of my own. I guess I will block you and all avatars. So if thats what you wanted I guess you win. Maybe I will just quit coming here at all. The last thing I need is one of my daughters to see this childish crap. I have enough stress in my life. I wonder why pool gets a bad rep.

I've not read any of this thread... no need. I'd like to see avatars eliminated... period. No need for them. They serve no purpose other than to create controversy and ill will. Get rid of all of them right now is my vote. If I were king I'd zap them NOW! BE GONE!!

While I don't like Sweet Marissa's avatar I can handle it.What I take offense to is the post wondering if the real problem is that one is white and one is black.I cringed when I saw that avatar and the fact that they were different colors NEVER entered my mind!!! As a white guy I object to things just because I find the act objectionable.NOT everything is somehow rooted in peoples perceived hatred of other races.

I just right clicked an avatar and selected to block images. ( using Mozilla)

But then the button to post msgs. disappeared, so I just put the appropriate screen names on ignore and allow other images.

I agree. I turned off avatars awhile ago. I like the humorous ones and the ones that are actual pictures of the person posting. I always felt a few were over any reasonable line and adding the recent efforts to see who can push the limits the furthest decided it for me. I'll leave avatars off until and unless the moderators choose to rein them in. Signatures are next.

It's sad that this forum has turned into a place where pool takes a back seat to people caring more about shock value and their right to offend others with avatars. I've shut the avatars off because some of them are getting ridiculous.

Look at it like this: If you have to justify your avatar in anyway, that's a signal telling you that perhaps it is inappropriate for the work environment, small children, and those of us that view this forum in the presence of others that don't give a crap about your right to display the avatar. They just view it as smut and immaturity and associate the viewer (me) as someone that advocates the behavior/content displayed in the questionable image. Like most people, I don't have to try hard to embarrass myself - I don't need the help of your avatar to accomplish that at all.

It comes down to common courtesy and respect for others that may view this forum directly and indirectly (over my shoulder). If you cannot or will not understand that, then maybe you should be removed from this forum until you do. That's not my decision, but I hope those that make that decision realize that those avatars affect the public image of this site, this forum, and all of its members.
 
I think some people just cant keep their eyes on what we all browse this site for. I think some people need to have self control and just accept the fact that their are Attention seekers/trouble makers here on this website. Look at the avatar get a laugh but don't dwell on it.
