I saw Chris and Ronnie playing for at least 5 hours, and they were still at it when I had to leave at 5am.

I saw the game was 10 ball, but any idea what the outcome was and if there was weight given?

BTW, Chris had a great tournament and deserves some love for a strong week.

So here's what I know.

Ronnie Alcano was playing 10-ball against Keith Bennett and giving him the call 7 and 9 in a race to 21 for $3000. Keith won the set 21-19. Not sure if they hooked up again.

At the same time that was going on, Lee Van Corteza was playing Chris Bartram in 10-ball. Bartram was also receiving the call 7 and 9 in a race to 21. At 15-15 there was a disagreement over a foul. Corteza said that Bartrum fouled, and Bartrum disagreed. Long story short, Corteza quit cancelling the bet. They were supposed to get together and do it again later, but I'm not sure if that happened.

On a side note. Chris Bartram played fantastic in the US Open!! He spanked Mika Immonen and sent him to the loser's bracket.

A very well deserved Congratulations goes out to Chris Bartram. Better luck next year!!

Thanks Brozif. Seems my second hand info may be inaccurate, so I'll delete the post.

Not sure, that may have happened after all.

What I was talking about happened very early in the week last week. This could have happened later in the week.

It is very possible.

Can't wait to hear the rest of this story--- quit and canceled the bet?

Hopefully Chris will post. I'd also like to give the smooth one a big  for his great play. What a nasty draw he got! Mika? No problem. David Alcaide? Cake. He had a (lonnnnnng) battle I watched with Ralf that went down to the wire. I have even more serious respect for ya Chris, I gotta believe you feel you moved up a couple notches last week!

Also, I was speaking with Jay while there and he told me Wiseman took down a big score, $10k I believe - vs who, I dunno. Jay knows a good bit of the Q Master action that went down. Hopefully he'll feel free to share.

Alcano played Bennett earlier in the week, Bennett getting the call 7 & 9, Bennett won $5K (a railbird told me). Bartram was getting the same weight, race to 35 for $6K, according to a railbird, Alcano was getting the best of this match when I left after 2am.

Thanks EZ for clarifying! My memory banks need a new SIMM chip! I hate I missed Saturday there, especially the party at Q. The pic's JCIN posted here are great!

Van Van was up 7-1, then 14-10 and Chris found a good break spot. Tied it at 14 and Van Van seen he couldn't win from there, and quit..... The word on the streets is that Van Van did call a foul on Chris but at the time he was disgusted with how things were going and wasn't even watching. The other word on the streets is that LVC is #2 only to Orcullo.....

Chris has played so many Pinoys that he should have dual citizenship..... LOL

Alcano vs Bartram Post Open Action report (sort of)

The match between Ronnie and Chris was race to 35 with Chris getting the 7 & 9 with the losing player arranging the balls for racking and the winner racks it himself. Ronnie was running out from everywhere in the early part of the match and so was Chris. It was evident though that Ronnie's superb cue ball control and pocketing skills was much more than Chris could handle.

The only question was how long would it take to wrap up the match.

The score got tied twice, at 17 & 28 apiece. During the time that the score was tied the bet went up and the rail birds went crazy placing more bets. The funny thing was after the tied score Ronnie would surge ahead with four games and get comfortable while Chris would be scrambling to catch up.

When they tied up at 28 Ronnie jumped up three games right away. Chris won a game, Ronnie won the next game, Chris won the next one, then Ronnie won the next and broke and run the last two games for the $6000 pot. I imagined that there was least $2500 on the rail bets.

Neils Feijen gave Chohan the 8 and beat him. I was not sure of the amount, though, as I was busy placing bets on the other matches.

Morra and Clatterbuck played on the bar box and Morra won. Can't remember the handicaps though.

Van Van and Bartram had a major disagreement over a hit. Rail birds said it was a bad hit, Van van claimed it a bad hit, but Chris was adamant and said it was a good hit. Van van felt that he can't let it go that way that's why he quit. He said that he cant play against somebody like that.

"Superman" Gomez beat Chohan $2000 giving him the 8. Chohan won last Sunday with the 8 & 9 for $500 but lost Friday night with the 8, losing $2000.

Joyner and McCreesh played some one hole with Ryan getting a 9 7 handicap. McCreesh won.

Gallego played some British dude and bested the guy. I asked Gallego how much and he grinned at me and some "cheeseburger money in the airport". He was flying out to Narita in a couple of hours.

And who is the mysterious donor to Wiseman? None other than Manny Chau whom Wiseman kept referring to as "my pretty Peruvian". Ronnie matched up with him three times and beat him.

Gallego was supposed to match up with Archer for $5000 last Saturday but it didn't happen.

Rodney Morris and Warren Kiamco was supposed to play last Friday night but I heard that Morris was asking for some handicap. Warren just smiled at him, was gonna say something smart, but decided that a simple no would suffice and gave him a condescending look that I translated as "a u.s. open champion and he is asking for a handicap?"

Same thing with Jeremy Jones who blatantly asked for a handicap from one of these Filipino players. I couldn't be sure if it was Corteza or Alcano.

Well, there it is folks, the Post U.S. Open Action Reports (sort of) from your friendly player, bettor and sometimes nitty mtf from QMasters.

Sometimes you are the hammer, sometimes the nail! Thanks for the input!

Morra and Clatterbuck played on the bar box and Morra won. Can't remember the handicaps though.

This was a continuation of an earlier match up on Thurs nite- they played 10 ahead, 10 ball, even, on a big table. Morra took it down in about 3 hours.

The "bad hit" with Bartram and Lee Van, the funny part was... After the hit, Lee Van just gave Bartram the good hit, Chris ran out THEN Lee Van quit. Better put Van on the bad action list because thats not cool.

How can he just quit if money is posted? Doesn`t it take both sides agreeing before the money is taken "off the light"?

Will

How do you get to quit and cancel a bet??? I wish I knew this move. I have seen the money taken off the light one time in my life, the players started brawling at the table though so it seemed natural to take the money off and cancel that bet.

P.S. One of the guys involved in the rumble beat Alcano...thats all I'm sayin son son.
