BB Players Paid Yet?

you can have a single party class action law suit, there is no minimum. And they could seek punitive damages as well as direct costs lost because of BB, but again having a judgment is worthless if the entity or person(s) have no $$$ or are in a forign land. Soooooo they aint got a prayer, unless things change. and for the last time in this thread I'll say it again give it 3-4 weeks and then we will know.

I don't think they got 3-4 weeks. Then what? Just a few more weeks........

That song and dance has been done more than once already. The players that are standing up for them still probably have been paid some or most. If not it's a classic case of stockholm syndrome.

The next line will probably be, "we will bail out the idea, but we can't justify back paying". I wonder how many will bite on that one.

MIke Dechaine and SVB are looking pretty smart right now. I'm guessing that they asked for contracts.

no not yet, thats the answer. to that question. yes they will be-is what they have been told. I feel confident worst case they will get paid.

Like I said go easy for 3-4 weeks, by then a decision will be made that will either be great for cue sports or this will all be a bad thing, I'm VERY confident it will work out good, thats why i'm suggesting people in the pool world to hold their toung's for a short time.

"Eric, I think you are guilty of believing what some people want to believe.

Until we get the word in the form of pr, I would be careful how much you tell people that you are "in the know" on this one.

Just makes you look bad.

Same for my friend Ravi. These players have been made many promises that they want to believe. But taking the word of any BB player as the gospel truth is crazy. Most of them know as much as we do.

like i said i'm gonna look like a idiot or a genius, and thats not important to me, what i care about is cue sports success.

3-4 more weeks w/o pay to most pros will be more of a disaster than it already is. It's not like most people that have jobs and have a few months at least living money saved .As far as them playing 8/1 w/o being paid up first...they would be crazy. I want to see them go out and get 32 or more players to replace them that people will watch...there ain't none. Johnnyt

Are you willing to front the money to the players until the new savior comes through? It's 100%........

I've been reading this thread and have a couple thoughts. I watched a lot of bonus ball when it was going on, but now that it's not I don't find myself missing it at all. That's a problem. Secondly on the matter of the future prospects I've been hopeful but realistic. Common sense tells me if something sounds too good to be true it usually is.

Looks like Darren, Stevie and Larry Nevel have all posted on fb that they are leaving Las Vegas. Going to be a quick turnaround if they are restarting play on August 1.

Inevitably so. This will be the demise of BB. It's like when a child figures out that Santa isn't who they thought he was.

With Darren, Stevie and Larry Nevel all posting on fb that they're leaving Vegas, you're certainly not looking like a genius.

BB doesn't have another 3-4 weeks to figure this out. They have one week left until the other players give up the ghost.

Most likely a lot of pros don't d the Facebook thing and more have/are going to fly the coop. Bye, bye BB. Everybody has their limit...even pro pool players. Johnnyt

"Heading back to SC. Bonus Ball postponed until further notice."

Via Larry's FB page from 2 hours ago. Doesn't sound like they are going and coming right back.

FYI: Income taxes 201

Many people believe that "write off" means "free", it doesn't mean anything of the sort.

Write offs are not tax credits where you get to reduce your taxes due dollar per dollar against your losses. Write offs are like tax deductions whereas you get to deduct the amount of your loss as a "write off" from your taxable income thereby reducing your taxes, but not on a 1:1 ratio.

Someone in the 50% taxable income bracket would actually only see a return of .50 for each tax write off dollar. There are exceptions, like real estate with depreciation or gas or oil ventures where your actual write off may be a multiple of your loss, but ordinary business losses do not apply.

So, when you hear "yea, but it's a write off", remember, it's doesn't mean free.

In fact I'll make this offering open to everyone: for every dollar you send me, I'll return .50, same as a tax write off...no limit. Hell with it, I'll make it .60.

Just some info for those who didn't know.

I was in the Greyhound racing and breeding biz for 10 years. I made a good buck in it between deprecation (back then you could write off the whole cost of each pup over 3-5 years and its training), purse money was good back then, betting on dogs that your trainer had ready to win and dog was breaking from its preferred box. When they closed the loopholes I sold all 154 dogs for a nice profit. Johnnyt

I hear you. If only I could find one or more people who would send me a penny tomorrow and then double the amount the next day and double each successive days cumulative total for 31 days then i could retire :)

but if you wrote the whole dog off and then sold him for 15k, u would have to pay the cap gain tax on the full 15K correct?
