Billy I vs Kieth Mc on TAR?

It is absolutely fantastic that Keith will be dusting it off and playing Billy.
I just don't think that one-pocket is going to be that exciting to watch.
There are many fans that don't really understand the moves.
I would much rather they play 9 ball or 10 ball. I think there would be more fan appeal. JMHO.

I agree!!

I would like to see, best 2 out of three sets.

We get Fatboy to flip to see who picks the game for the first set. (not kidding)

Billy picks one game for one set

Keith pick one game for one set

In case they tie one set each, WE do an AZ poll to pick the game for the third set.

3 day event.

?????????? What do you'all think???????

Theyve both agreed to play a set of even one pocket. Im sure thats what the game is going to stay.

Yeah

You're probably right.

I still think the "Best of 3 set,mix it up" format would be awesome to watch.

I spoke with Barry Behrman today and he is definetly interested in having this match at Q-Masters before the U.S. Open.

There is still a long way to go but everything is looking good so far. I will post when I get some more information and things firm up.

I gotta say this is one of my favorite match ups so far. I'm gonna try and make it to watch in person.

Sorry, but I have to totally disagree. MANY pool fans love to watch good One Pocket played. Just check out a match when Efren tees it up. One Pocket is a uniquely creative game with a variety of shots unlike any other pool game. For those who play One Pocket it is by far the most fascinating game to watch.

And with two players like Keith and Billy, it could and should be a memorable match. Keith is one of the all time great shotmakers and creative shooters in pool, and Billy is one of the smartest players to ever grace the green. And it makes for a great match-up! This will be a big win for TAR and pool fans everywhere if they can pull it off.

Keith and Billy are putting up their cash to play this match. They have decided that the best, and most even, match would be one pocket. I doubt if they really care what any of us think, because it is their money at risk. Similar to any other gambling match, the players involved should decide the game.

Although I can't call myself a one pocket player, I look forward to seeing this match and I'm sure many others are too.

I have to admit I wasn't a big fan of 1-hole before I really got to watch it on TAR at the DCC I think it was. The 2 or 3 matches I watched were very enjoyable. By the third match I could pretty much call what the player would shoot.

However I wouldn't want to watch 2 C or B players play a long race. I'm just sorry I never got into 1-hole before my health went south. I think if you really enjoy pool and know what shots are hard and what ones are not you will enjoy two great players like Billy I. and Keith M. going head to head, each trying to out think and out shoot the other. who said it could be boring?

For whoever said that 1-pocket could be somewhat boring for this TAR matchup...I think that is 180 degrees of what it will be. Even for people who don't know/enjoy the game, having Billy Incardona and the Keither going at it, with Freddie and Grady in the booth providing color commentary and stories would make this one of the all time classic matches. The knowledge that Grady and Freddie have about the game would help the people who don't know much about the game see why certain shots are made, and why some others are not, ect...explain the moves. And they would do such in a way that it wouldn't be a lecture, but instead it would be a true learning experience.

One of the most memorable experiences, as far as meeting players, was seeing and meeting Keith up in Chelmsford, MA for the Joss Tour finale that year. (I think it was 2002 or 2003) He not only lived up to the hype I had heard, he surpassed it. Commentary while he was at the table, joking with the spectators...and very approachable too. Seeing him and Larry Lisciotti (RIP) take on Evgenyi Stalev in full rack banks was deffinitely one of the greatest displays of tag team woofing I have ever seen.

Can't wait to see Keither with the Ether back in the box....I might try to make it up there for this one in person too.

Right on, Jay! A 10-ball match between the two would only be at the "B" level, whereas we'll get to see first rate one-pocket between Billy and Keith. The colorful banter will definitely be an attraction by itself. Keith is very entertaining, and Billy can woof it back with the all time best!

I agree! Having been on the losing end on Keith's 1h game, I can tell you he will come with some shots that will be enlightening...even if we won't be able to execute them ourselves.

He is one BAD DUDE!!

I was watching the golf today and this thread was brought to my attention about playing you. You and I both know I haven't been playing much, if at all, but you know what, I will come out of retirement to play that game, one-pocket even with you, Billy C.

I know you're the best mover in the country. LOL. I'll have to practice up for three or four days and get my ball speeds down a little bit. With all those traps you've got, Billy, they're not as devastating as you think they are. All I'll have to do is like I've done in the past, hit you with a couple twisters, leave you long a few times, make a couple two-railers with good ball speeds, and then you will be standing there like a statue holding your cue with that big old smiling grin of yours.

The one thing about it, when I win the game, it will take 5 minutes. When you win the game, it will take 2 hours. :D

I'm getting together with my people to see if I can round up the dough. I just don't have 10 grand laying around at the moment, but I'll do my best to accommodate your kind proposition.

And Toupee, you do have it right. I will shoot him down! He's not going to be able to fade me! He might be able to roll with me for a little bit, but as the game progresses and the shots start getting a little bit more accurate, I believe I will wear him down. Hopefully. :)
Swing it Keither. Guys, for the first time on AZ, I have found a match I am willing to sweat. Let's get all of the details down and pm me. Cheap, mind you. I'm not Fatboy.

Excuse my ignorance here. Has this match ever happened?

If it did, is there a DVD available?

If it has not, is it still going to happen?

Personally, I'd love to see it happen up
in Platisville on Daves' 4" Diamond pockets
set up by our realkingcobra.

The match did not happen with TAR.

Billy I. was all set and ready to go, but Keith's backer did not want to have this happen on the East Coast. He wanted it to take place elsewhere, which would have been a difficulty for some parties to attend due to length of time, travel, and other associated expenses.

The pool player has to pay their own expenses to attend these wonderful events, and it can be a little heavy in that department.

Logistics were the major problem, trying to get all parties in agreement.

Again, Billy I. was fine, but it was on Keith's end that was the stumbling block.

At least that's the way I understood what transpired!

Wow this is disappointing....

I wish we had a millionaire on here that could help offset these travel expenses...

Ken

I'll donate $50 for travel expenses to make this match happen. It would seem like a good investment for someone to pay for the travel expenses to have a chance to make several thousand without risking anything.

Surely if the logistics are all thats keeping the match from happening then something can be done. It would be a great match to watch thats for sure.
