Bobby Hunter's Cue Shop is Open

That's a good thing -I've always liked Bobby's cues. Can't wait to see some of his recent work.

I just got off the phone with him.
I am so glad he is starting on his cues again. I will be placing an order him. His cues play awesome.
Now here's a guy who knows how to make a good hitting cue. I should have never sold the solid ebony masterpiece I had years ago. His plain janes are the nuts.

Bobby Hunter is the most meticulous man I have ever met. He is the Felix Unger of cuemakers, and I say that in the good way. His attention to detail is maddening. His every process is a primer in the minutia. My Cognoscenti, my custom Meucci, and my custom Joss East are being relegated to the back of my cue closet in preparation for my new Hunter. Better order one now when the wait time will be the shortest.

Actually I'm like most here who have heard nothing but great things about his cues, and I can't wait for mine to get here around the end of the month. It will be a plain ebony with the silver stitch rings, and will be my new player.
I talked to Bobby at length about some fairly minor details, and just from that conversation I KNOW this cue will be a monster player. He sounds like he wants EVERY cue that leaves his shop to be THE BEST cue that EVER left his shop!
He could just make those solid ebony cues all day long and pretty soon everybody would be playing with them. Who is it that says, "I kid you not." Oh yeah, the Anito Kid.
Bob was a solid top ten player in his prime, with many high finishes and even a few championships. His best years as a player were the 80's and early 90's.

The first is his fleur de lis design. He uses ebony, and then I believe turquoise points with ivory curly cues and points. It retails for a little over 3k.
The second again has the ebony with both silver and ivory inlays. I think the last wood used is rosewood possibly. It retails for around 2k.
Both of those cues were made around 2004, but is a good representation of his work/design.
The last picture is my own cue. I have been playing with this one since 1997, and I believe he made it in 1995. It is cocobolo with birdseye maple points and ivory stars.
Regarding his calmness you witnessed while he was playing, he taught me everything I know about the mental side of this game. I mean everything I absolutely know came from him.

Well, all I can say is it's about damn time. I've been by his place three or four times and there's always been one of those cardboard clocks stuck on the door that reads one o'clock. I come back at one and he's still not there. I go down to the poolhall and ask where Bobby is and nobody has seen him. I go back to his shop and still no Bobby. What's a guy got to do to get his toaster fixed? What? This Bobby is a cuemaker? Not Bobby the small appliance repairman? Go figure. Who would have thought that two different Bobbys' would go to the same poolhall.

FINALLY!!!!
I called him back on 5/24 and he said he had the fan/vent assembly for the spray booth, but he was waiting for the flashing and rubber seal. Back then he said it would be any day, so I'm sure he was MORE than ready to get the parts in and get going.
Hopefully I'll be seeing my ebony cue in the next few weeks!!!
