Buyer beware of ob1-mackie

the cue got dispatched with 2 other sales all on the wrong type of mailing(surface instead of signed for priority)
you fail to mention i did offer you a refund after the first cock-up as same as i did the other sales.
the reason i delayed the second refund was so i could make sure enough cash was in the account for paypal to cover the refund....the 27th my payday
i'm sorry for the hassle it has caused.....as previously said....
i agree the receipt shouldn't have been thrown away.....it was done it a moment of frustration after i had found that the parcels had been dispatched incorrectly.
i've had a fair bit on my plate lately with work and personal matter(all of which are none of your business) and i may have let a few things slip.
as i said you'll get your refund on the 27th........and i'm sure your cue will arrive too.....and i as i said you can have both
What's a cock-up?

About the only major problem I see with this would be that you have his money.....and probably spent it...and now he has to wait for a refund.....That is like throwing salt on the wound....but hopefully....NEXT WEEK, he will get his money back....

Bad way to do buisiness in my eyes
I'm not worried about the money. My concern was that I saw him selling other items to other AZ members. I created this thread in case they were experiencing the same thing.

So far, nobody has come forward to say "Yeah I bought ABC and it arrived/didn't arrive." ob1-mackie mentioned that two other sales were also shipped via the up-to-6-week method.

Of course I'll update the thread with news of a refund/non-refund.

... And...I'm really wondering if sending something COD isn't the way to go. Does anyone know how that works? I've never sent or received anything that way...but seems a good way to facilitate a simultaneous exchange of funds and goods. I mean...if you don't have the means to pay...well then...no f'in cue for you. Right?
There's extra expense involved (COD charge) on top of the shipping charge.
In essence you ship and the delivery person collects or no delivery is made.
We specify payment must be by certified check (Postal MO or local bank cashiers check).
UPS won't accept cash but will take a personal/business check unless you specify certified check.
Once the check is collected delivery is completed and the shipping carrier sends you the actual check.

I've been considering a few things lately with all the different threads like this that have come up.

First...any cue I spend upwards of a grand on...I want that mf'er shipped over night. I just don't like the idea of a cue, something that for all intents and purpose, is still an organic, living thing...taking days of braving the elements and the idiocy of the post office, to get to me. I want that things shipped overnight. Period, the end.

Second...if I spend $1800 on a cue...I want it insured for $1800.

Right?

I purchased a cue via COD and just paid the UPS dude 1600 and bingo brand new Cognoscenti was mine:D :D I paid the UPS guy cash but this was about 15 years ago.

i have had some good and bad transactions on here. and i worked for the post office. so cod still doesnt beat an escrow service. if i ship a cue overnight and overseas and it goes to someones house and they end up not having the money for it. it ends up sitting in the post office in who knows kinda weather or shipped back and i eat the expense.

i have had people send me money orders and that just shocked me of the trust here on az. it was great. then when i felt like there was a good group of people on here. i got screwed like 3 times in a row. So it pays to make sure who your dealing with has good rep or itrader. Ill tell ya i wont ever send anything to a guy with "pawn" in his email address again. and i wont dissassemble a table till i get the requested deposit.

and if he said u can keep the cue and the money you should still return one of them when u recieve the cue in 2010..jk. it wont take 6 weeks dont worry. i used to send stuff over to the uk all the time.

good luck

I hope this will turn out to the best.
I've dealt with ob1-mackie not so long ago and transaction was smooth (but I was te seller).

I think that ob1-mackie willingness to give a refund and leaving the cue as well (when and if it'll get to the destination) is a fine gesture that should put an end to this issue.

i have a deal with ob1-mackie for a mezz powerbreak cue. the cue never came. i received a refund. no tracking provided as well.

but at least he offer me a refund...cue never turn up too......dun understand why???????

the cue got damaged and returned to myself.i gave you a refund.i didn't think you'd want the cue with a huge chunk out of the shaft.

with regards to the transaction with shinobi he will get his refund, the paypal account i use is used as a family account so 3 different people buy and sell using it so sometimes funds are in it sometimes they are not.

shinobi has a percentage of his refund and i will gladly give him the rest on the 27th when i have the funds in my bank account so its covered when paypal takes them from it.i do not use a credit card so i cannot refund him using one.

for whoever asked a cock up is something that goes wrong.its an english saying

i have spoken to the other buyers and they fully understand the situation,i offered them a refund if the shafts do not arrive in a certain period of time and i will honour that.

Well i am the other person that purchased the shafts that ob-1 had for sale. He also told me that his wife had shipped the shafts but it was the 3/6 week time frame also. I have not recieved the shafts yet but i am going to give him the benefit of doubt and trust him. he also never sent me a tracking # but did p.m. me about what had occured so i am waiting patiently to see if he is true to his word. I will let everyone know as soon as they arrive but he also told me that he would refund the $ and i could keep the shafts but i am not that type of person so i hope everything turns out for you shinobi!!

Waiting on a refund is why everything I sell on eBay has the funds paid sitting in PayPal till I receive positive feedback. This way I don't spend the money and have something like this happen.

NO NO NO NO NO........ YOU HAVE TO PAY BEFORE YOU OPEN THE PACKAGE. AND IF IT'S SHIPPED COD THE SENDER CAN SPECIFY CERTIFIED FUNDS. WHICH MEANS ONCE YOU HAND OVER THE MONEY ORDERS, YOU MAY HAVE A BOX OF ROCKS IN YOUR HAND, AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT.

ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THIS...... AS THE SENDER IF YOU DON'T SPECIFIY CERTIFIED FUNDS, THE BUYER COULD EASILY WRITE A BAD OR STOLEN CHECK, AND YOU WOULDN'T KNOW THAT FOR AT LEAST 14 DAYS. (IT TAKES ABOUT 7 DAYS TO GET THE CHECK FROM THE SHIPPING COMPANY, AND ABOUT 7 DAYS FOR AN OUT OF STATE CHECK TO FULLY CLEAR)

There's absolutely NO excuse for someone dealing in cues not to KEEP and offer TRACKING NUMBERS.... imo
Especially with 3 people working from one account.

This seller may have had a few good transactions before....but these 3 where the buyers have to wait 6 weeks to recieve what they bought....thats CRAP....it doesnt take anything 6 weeks to ship...I have sold welders, cues, tools, r/c trucks airplanes helicopters boats to people all over the world...and im sorry...doesnt take 6 weeks to ship.....that is just from my experience.....

This is getting worse for OB the more people that come foreward...

lol if i could give your rep i would. have to remember this post

Aren't they in different countries? If so you cannot COD a shipment, at least not through UPS I don't know about Fed-Ex or USPS. Hope everyone gets their stuff in good order, if this is how he treats his paperwork and people then I don't know how the equipment will arrive.
