I know many people wished they could've burned a Varney over the years, but never actually owned one to burn. Well I owned two. If I owned a Wheat cue I would've burned that, but this is the next best thing. Enjoy!

P.S. It smelled great!

P.P.S. Sorry about the wrap Ryan.

Wow, what a shame. I just recently bought a Varney J/B and have to say I really like it. I use to use a BK2 and the Varney breaks just as good for me. I have won 3 of the 4 break contests I have entered with it. I read how Varney has treated some people over the years, but never read anything about his cues playing bad. Is there more behind this?
Now the Wheat cues... from what I read they deserved to be in the fire.

The guy may have handled things poorly here on AZB, but from my experience his break cues are very effective. I'm a BK2 user like rburgoyne.

Wow!!!!!

What's the issue with the Wheat Cues??

I believe there aren't any, and that may be the problem.
Can't believe somebody hasn't heard about the Eddie Wheat issues.

I can give you the rest of the story, but it will cost you $200 Wheat Bucks!!!

I believe Wheat cues would burn nicely, if any really existed.

not bad but . . .

Next time use some accelerant. Just a suggestion but some engineers started competing among themselves to see what was the fastest they could get charcoal ready to cook on. They got it down to good coals and ready to cook in under 30 seconds with a little help from charcoal lighter and LOX.

Could those cues have really played that poorly? Could there have been issues with Mr. Varney other than just the quality of his cues? Just curious.

Sounds like the crap I used to do as a kid. Speaking of which, I need to add my next installment to your "sword-fighting with cues" thread. It involves a length of PVC pipe, some M-80s or Blockbusters (depending on the girth of the PVC pipe), some golf balls, and a hill overlooking a golf course...

Mwah ha ha ha ha!
:D

Are Varney's cues really that bad? Was that their punishment for something play related or is this some kind of protest?

...on another subject why no marshmallows?....

Disclaimer...not condoning cue abuse or destruction unless the thing is made by k-mart or walmart then it's probably a health hazard to burn anyway.

Yeah, I'm having trouble understanding this one too. I usually like offbeat crap like this but this one just stunned me. What the hell happened, man?

His playing cue was pretty horrible, but the playability had very little to do with this. I'm also breaking better now with a $60 j+j jump/break because it's FORM and not EQUIPMENT that yields results. He has frustrated so many AZers by over-promising and under-delivering... refusing refunds... stringing customers along... making excuses, etc. and then lashing out at people for messing with his livelihood when they criticized him. Then he would repeat this process many times. I got these cues right when this all started, so I likely got a cue that was promised to someone else.

Do a search, it's all there for everyone to see.

Sorry dude but this one hurts, of course with a name like Cuebuddy...... it comes with the territory.:p

sounds promising!

Sean,

Yep, exactly like that! Can you picture a couple cues in the middle of that kinda heat? Fortunately no inlays because they could pop at bullet velocities I suspect.

Looking forward to your next installment on the other thread. For years I was able to find the agricultural M-80's. Those things were impressive. Did a lot of fishing with them and used to pop them under a big bridge. Toss it up on one of those huge I-beams and it would hum like a tuning fork for awhile. Got to where everybody was selling weenie version knock-offs and I quit buying M-80's.

never dealt with kevin so i cant really generate any opinions. but that was a great clip to get your point across!! someone needs to MELT some sportscraft cues LOL!!!

A local Boys and Girls Club, a senior citizens center, or a camp for teenagers would have loved to have had these cues.

Maybe this is cool to some folks, but I think it is a damn shame and a real waste. It's awful to see this.

Ya, Hierovision, what were you thinking .... the kids could have made a nice marshmallow roasting fire .... after the finish burned off of course.

I think it is a good way to bring the issues some people have had with Varney to light. I still can't believe he has not been banned from this sight and usually the thread ends up getting deleted.
