Some points I would like to make:

I have read most all of the posts on this thread, and want to make some points:

1) The details of the 'accident' are sketchy, but acceptable in a rare incident.

2) Patrick should not be using money from one cue to fund others until
the customer is completely happy. (at least 30 days after receiving the cue, considering that most states have 'Lemon laws').

3) Patrick seems like an honest guy, to me, and like he is trying to 'right the ship'. He should be given the 2 weeks he alluded to, and not raked over the coals just 3 days after. Small businesses (and I know) frequently use Peter to pay Paul. I am not saying it is right, just that it exists.

4) Get off the fact that he said you have your head up your *ss, I would have said more than that, and it is not the big deal you are trying to make it out to be.

5) It is my opinion he will resolve the situation as soon as possible.

It's only been 3 days since this thread was started and Doug Patrick said he needed two weeks.

....................:deadhorse:

What is the point in all this. If you read this from begining to end you will have read every fact of this deal from both individuals involved. Appologies have been made a resolution has been worked out. There are multiple post's that are the same in this thread so why keep it up.

I gotta say I was just searching Patrick custom cues on this forum after seeing his website and wanting to purchase one of his very nice LOOKING cues.

I was going to send him a PM saying his workmanship is very nice and talk to him about making a cue.. but I came across this and now am worried. I went ahead and purchased a balabushka GB replica (new from adams cue company) and will possibly come back to Patrick for my 3rd cue I'll be purchasing in a month.. depending on the outcome of this.

Gotta say, this whole thing was retarded. The cue maker got way more heat then he deserved, and now loses business over it. Nice, that loss of a sale cost Patrick Cues alot more money then the 2 weeks the OP lost waiting for it's return...

Not sure "this" thread is really what AZBilliards should be striving to be.

Well he advertised he had a cue completed and ready to sell, He got the money and THEN checked it over.

In my mind he should probably start checking it over before taking payment (since this wasn't a custom cue, it looked to be one he made to just sell).

No one should be left with nothing for weeks, not even there own money, and to end up with what they had in the beginning (Plus a bunch of hard-ache).

Anyways if this is fixed i'll keep my eye out on his cues and hopefully they won't come apart if I bought one.. I'll look into seeing if he has a warranty against defects like joint's coming undone etc.

I think Doug was very up front about the whole situation, and if you read the whole thread you would have seen that. It's a shame that he would lose another sale from this. <<jmo> ED

I agree, he's a good guy that didn't deserve the crap others dished out.

It sounds like Doug has built quite a few cues for az members and his little hickup and that is all it was IMHO will not and should not hurt him. Doug hang in there you will be fine.

The buyer (saddlebow) posted in another thread that he received his money from Doug Patrick on September 26. Before you posted.

FYI.

Very Good Post, money should not be spend.

Patrick will make more money after he pay money back, if this happens to me, I would not just send money back................................

Mistaken, no excuess.

Im afraid Im gonna have to call bullsh*t here buddy. If you actually read the whole thread, or done any kind of research on here, you would have seen that this has been resolved, and was totally blown out of proportion. Both guys overreacted, but I dont believe for one second that this thread is keeping you from buying one of his cues. I have never bought, owned, or even hit with one of his cues, but I am positive his workmanship is top notch, and if you start talking smack about his shit falling apart, you better know what you are talking about. He found a flaw in a cue before he shipped it, and it may have been partially his fault, but it was the exception, not the rule, and he did the right thing. I know of other cuemakers who would have sent it anyway, and said tough sh*t, its yours. If you have any doubts about Mr. Patrick, feel free to buy an Eddie Wheat or Jeff Eason cue, then your concerns will be valid.

P.S. Mods, please lock this thread, its over and done with. Thanks.

IF you had searched Patrickcues on this site then you would have also come across the thread that this was handled and a dead issue.

YOU are not making a very good impression on this site. I suggest you apologize.

Someone translate what this poster was trying to state.

Someone translate what this poster was trying to state.

Some of it is hard to follow, but I think it basically says,,,,

I have not read all of this thread, but Ill throw in a comment like I have a clue of whats going on.

Or something to that nature

Dave - With people so busy bashing, what they also fail to realize is that Doug HAD a cue that was worth $1200 but NOW is worth virtually nothing (if I am understanding the issue with the cue correctly). But you haven't seen Doug make one post about that or even make that comment to the buyer in any of his emails. In the end, Doug still has to deal with being out $1200 that he thought he was going to have in hand.

Thanks for the words as well. We can take each issue on an individual basis. Take care.

I tried to give you more green rep but I can't. Sometimes you may come off as rude, but your actions in this thread show that you can't always go by first impressions. Good luck sir and if I ever see you or Mr. Patrick, beers are on me. Perhaps at Derby or the next Olathe tourney.

I'll be at both. Would love to have a beer with you and I am sure that Doug will be there as well.

Yes I do come off rude and probably should shut up more than I do. I'll work on it. The thing about me is that I treat people to extremes. I will go out of my way for someone that I think is right, a good person or a good friend. I think most of my friends and good friends would vouch for that. But I always go to the extreme for what I think is wrong as well. That's where I get into trouble. I grew up in New York and my girlfriend also says it is because I am a Scorpio. Who knows.

Anyways, back to Doug. I talked to him last week and he told me has a bunch of new cues almost finished. Can't wait to see them up close and the pics as well. The last one he completed was a real beauty, his best yet.
