Hope this comes out right....I love the cue, but why do I see so many cuemakers come out with boring wood?
This Starkey and some other cues have alot of character.
It amazes me, that some cuemakers, maybe most, seem to use boring woods and when they could use some wood with character to take a cue from good the unbelievable.
While I am no cuemaker, if I was and wanted some wood with birdseye, it would have TONS of birdseye. One my favorite Schick cues (I dont own) is a burl one I have seen on AZ.
Pfd is IMO, the best on using really great wood. I commission a couple cues each year from various cuemakers and usually order ebony. I ask for "grainy" ebony, and enjoy explaining my thoughts.
IMO, if the cue has great wood, it tells a much better story than a boring cue with tons of inlays.
