Don't forget OMGWTF, she did pretty well with the forum/Tar thing once before. It might have been all about the dis that time too, but I think the 3K she won still spent A-OK.

This whole thread started my day with a smile and chuckle. As we all know OMG does put her money where her mouth is, not everyone can say the same. There is nothing wrong with self promotion as long as the person doing it has the capability to back up what they claim.

I never looked at this as a gender issue. My point is, if Avina doesn't respond, I don't blame her. Why voluntarily dive into a flame war and it seems to always turn out that way.
Don't be a bully some people on here seem to have taken a liking to this Mary whatever her name is. I personally would prefer her to throw it on the light. She won't match up with you not because of how the offer came, it's because she can't play at all. You knew that before you typed it up. I do like girls in high heels at the pool table though :wink:...keep on truckin, if that even makes sense

Mary Avina posted several times that she has backers (and even has sponsors) for money games and tournaments, and OMG (politely) requested to play her. Pool players approach each other to gamble all the time in front of other people in pool halls, and since this forum has been called a virtual pool room by many, I personally don't see a problem with it. I might also mention that guys request games in threads and no one says it's "mean".

Omgwtf had no reason to believe that offering Mary a game in a public forum would be "uncool."
So I say that a game wouldn't have happened, no matter what. If Omgwtf did it quietly through IM, she might have got a $20 race to 5 secretly and in private, but that wouldn't even pay Omgwtf's bus fare. And it'd make Omgwtf look like a thief trying to sneak up on someone.
There's nothing Omgwtf could have possibly said or done that would have fit "respectful, serious, clean, AND cool." Seems to me like the "dissing" started with the critique of the invitation itself.

Do I want that kind of attention? No way. OMGWTF walks into the pool hall I'm in I run the other way for fear she'll call me out. However, I also don't post pics of myself in a short skirt leaning back to hit an imaginary masse' shot, so you asking me if I'm seeking attention might be a little off the mark. I also didn't post that I have backers (I don't) and that I'm ready to gamble (I'm not).

I think I missed where Mary was barking at anyone, I think OMGWTF proposed a game and just no response from Mary, she might be making a salad with her katana. 
The term can be used two ways. It can be used like "mark" or "target" or it could mean, as you suggested, someone who likes to lose money. In my post, I meant the former and not the latter.
For the record, no offense, this Mary woman isn't that hot...definitely not hot enough for 4 pages of forum goodness. I'd rather post about tip tappers.
I didn't mean to suggest you were seeking attention. The point of my question was if ANYONE would want that sort of attention. Sorry if I wasn't clear.
Agree. Low hotness factor. I don't even know what omgwtf looks like, but I GUARANTEE I would find her more attractive than this girl, as omgwtf comes across as extremely intelligent and driven, both qualities I find much more desirable in a woman than a low cut top and big bazongas.
