I'm thinking I'm top 5? I won't even consider playing pool with a "glove" It's a matter of pride. I might "like it" and then how do I show my face in public? I'd rather "feel" the cue.

I'll never understand what the big deal is about wearing a glove..lol I've been wearing one for 20 years..It just makes sense to me. To each his own though lol

glove

I wear one also..i love it..would not play without it..same stroke..same
constant feel..and it keeps my hand and cue clean..only way to go!!!..SA

Call me crazy, but I love the look of the old dirty shiny from the oil from
your skin shaft. I don't have to worry about anything. I just wipe it down
after I used it and its ready to go next time. Yes, its dark and blued, but
a small price to pay for low maintenance. Oh, and I don't really care for
the look of the glove and finger sleeves........but thats just me.

I wear gloves too - when I go out in the snow!
Just kidding, to each his own. I like to feel the shaft sliding through my fingers. I keep my shaft as smooth as possible and my fingers dry.

I wear a glove on my left hand for golf...gotta have it.

..but I hate a glove for pool...gotta feel the cue.
and I think the oil from your hand conditions the cue.
..I think an unused cue is more liable to warp.

A reason for me not wearing a glove. What happens is.... I have a mistress that I spend the night with a few times a week. Before I get home in the morning I chalk up my bridge hand........my wife asks me where I have been. I tell her I was with my mistress.... she then looks at my chalked hand and says...You were out playing pool again. BUSTED:grin:

Well, the threads the use the letters C, T and another vowel seem to get a bit on the crazy side.

I have never used a glove and never will. I like to maintain the "touch" with the cue while shooting............BUT......

....Football wide receivers wear gloves.
....Golfers wear gloves.
....Baseball hitters wear gloves at bat.
....etc.

This is true, but they are all used to improve tackiness (if that's a word)/or grip, not to make it smoother/slicker. Hi Will.

i've wore a glove for 10 or more years. i also lift weights and I'll use a pad squatting and most gym rats act like it's 'girly' to use a pad on the bar even when you have hundreds of pounds of pressure from the bar against your back.

trying to be macho or cool is stupid imho. the glove theory is the same thing as the pad on the squat bar to me people think it's lame but i just want to play the best i can and CONSISTENCY is kind of a requirement. the glove provides a consistent feel regardless of how sweaty your hands are. but then again i'm 6'5 300lbs and can lift 2x what the average guy can in the gym so i dont have the little guy complex and I'm arrogant enough to think I'm cool no matter what lol.

dumping baby powder over your hand every 2 seconds seems like a distraction in comparison to just wearing a glove and never having to worry about it again. i just can not imagine anyone making a good case as to why a glove is no good. liking to feel the cue i dont think is a requirement to be good but then again I'm not that great at all so maybe it is lol.

i mean no disrespect by this post so please no one take it personally it's just my opinion.

Welcome to the forum, BigBoy. I laughed at your comment about the arrogance. Good third post. Keep them coming.

I use the glove because it allows my cue to consistently slide smoothly, unencumbered by sweat, humidity, powder/chalk or a dirty shaft.

ob1 shaft

i just started wearing a glove after i bought a ob2 shaft i sweat while playing and the ob2 gets sticky very fast and then i have to use so much chalk i get it everywhere :embarrassed2:

I'm partial to the Eddie Wheat meltdown thread. That was classic.

Thats the one that popped into my head.

First there was the FBI girlfriend who will go after anyone who messes with Eddie and finally the complete and total meltdown. It had it all.
