Cuemakers, Pro Players & AZ

It's really simple: jumping into the Mosh Pit, otherwise known as AZ's Main Forum, is not for everyone.

And Lou right beside me :-)

But it SHOULD BE for everyone. There really isn't any need at all for the amount of belittling and defaming that goes on.

Although...what I find to be humorous is the amount of straight up hypocrites who dare to tell others how they should react to being attacked yet they NEVER, and I mean NEVER EVER, criticise the attackers.

I personally find the internet to be a great place to voice my opinion and state my case. I like a good clean debate and see nothing wrong with it. But when a debate turns into a defamatory brawl then that I could live without.

It is for everyone but you have to be willing for your posts to stand on their merits rather than your name. There are some pros that want an "amen" to follow every one of their posts and when they don't get that, or even worse, someone has temerity to disagree, then "the name" gets all huffy and takes their ball home.

Are there anonymous trolls you have to fade too? Yes, of course -- it's the internet. Pull on your big girl panties and wade in.

I never accused you of those things. I don't think anybody has. And this thread is a general discussion, not specifically about Jeff's situation. Everything you post comes back to that thread, even though we're not talking specifically about that thread.

You are correct in that I do not agree with your position, especially not your aggression toward it. And you don't agree with me. That's fine. You aren't going to change my mind and I'm not going to change yours. You're talking apples while I'm talking oranges.

If cue makers had the desire to run on society's treadmill, then we'd be bankers or lawyers or concrete contractors, whatever. But we're not. We're definitely not food industry workers. Could you imagine a cue maker working in the kitchen where you order a burger? He'd choke you with his spatula, or you'd die of starvation before the burger ever comes. You simply cannot expect an orange to be an apple. That's my point.
I come back to it because its fresh and most likely a catalyst for this thread. I don't know what you mean by aggression. I feel strongly about the responsibilities that come with owning a business, I'm a hobbyist cuemaker and I care about the direction of the industry. I certainly care about people getting wronged. Which seems pretty regular in the billiard world.

I wholeheartedly agree with your last paragraph. Its why I'm self employed. My time and personal freedom was far more valuable than what I could have made as a professional.

But there has to be some middle ground and there should be a sense of responsibility when you take the emotions that come with your last paragraph and decide to put yourself out there in the form of a professional business.

Because the alternative is burned customers and people who get screwed over because someone wants all the perks of being self employed, doing it their way...etc. But non of the responsibility that comes with running a business and taking consideration of your customers money and feelings.

I don't think you personally have an "oh well" mentality when it comes to taking care of your customers. I think we're advocating for two different parts of the same story and probably aren't as far from agreement on how things "should be" as you might think.

MOSH PIT! I got to hand it to Lou that is one of the best descriptions I've heard about AZ.

The folks that really, really get under my skin are the shit stirrers. They have one purpose, to get someone else pissed off. Some are so bold to even admit that is what they are doing others just make tasteless comments for the hell of it. Neither get my respect, I am sure they wouldn't care anyway...

There are just as many passive-aggressive stirrers, too. The ones that say that if you don't agree with them, you're a "hater" or a "stirrer" or "troll", etc.

lol, oh yeah, Q, it's totally nuts here. The other descriptor I often think of is one involving a scene from "Gladiator" when they're wheeling in a caged Russell Crowe into Rome and you get you first view of the Coliseum. Not much different :-)

As to the SSs, yes they're here in force. But when they totally give themselves away as the worthless nincompoops they are... just put them on Ignore. Works for me.

There are a lot of them too. It is whats it is.

Banks, you're not referring to the ones that dive into others Threads, make the Thread all about them, and continue on for a 100 pages or so?

Gots a couple of those still around these parts.

Oh yeah, they play the Victim Role real well also. And strangely enuff, they exhibit Narcissistic symptoms to varying degrees.

But, if you Hate Haters, are you not a Hater.

Just like I hate burnt taters. I am a Burnt Tater Hater.

I love a good debate too. But only if I am right and others acknowledge it.

Do them guys tend to sell anything?

Lou Figueroa
just wonderin'

There you guys go trying to get someone all stirred up. Can't we all just get along?? Poor Rodney may he RIP!

My first post on Az. First I want to say that many on here I find commendable. I am amazed at the common since of many here. I guess I learned a long time ago not listen to people who slander others. This isn't the place to cry about personal issues that may or may not be provable. If it is done in a tasteful manner in the context of a thread may be a rare exception. Remember what goes around comes around.
By the way I thanks to JB cases for videos on cte.

True dat.

They also like to claim they don't, not ever, do any anonymous trolling... somehow forgetting their own use of aliases.

Lou Figueroa

Me, my wife and worker?:p
Kinda funny the wife, worker and the aliases disappear
shortly after the ban.

Yep, right on time.

Funny that the Hater Haters dislike anyone that disagrees with them. It doesn't matter what what their Join date is, they're Anonymous and Trolls.

But, if you're a new member and you agree with them, the anonymity, join date and number of posts doesn't matter any longer.

Joey, you forgot to mention, A Brother that lives in Ontario, Canada.

Because Post Times can change between Canada and China.

This is what I have said for years.

AZB can be the mental plague for many industry folks. I can't tell you the number of people who have told me they will never post because of not wanting to be exposed.

Many deal with forum like they are bad mojo, and who in their right mind in the industry needs more problems.
