I just met Dan last week at the US Open, talked to him for 15 20 mins, seemed like a great guy. So sad to hear. RIP

Dan

My sincere condolences to the family and his many , many friends.

I only spoke over the phone with Dan, but did so many times and own some of his cases. I will always remember the kind and friendly voice of Dan and will treasure the leather samples he sent me after our conversations. He lives on in the minds of all he has come across as a gentle spirit and in the strength and life of his work that protects and enjoys the work of great cue makers and gun makers (as I see now) which in turn enhances the lives of these that keep them. My Dan Whitten cases are going to get a little talking to this evening and maybe Dan will hear my thanks again, this time not over the phone, but through the loving work he has left me and others which forever extends a thread to him in this word and continues his presence and life here for good.

I also wish to ad my condolences and my wishes for peace in this very difficult time to his family. His love is eternal and he is with you forever now and afterwords. Feel him in this world wherever you see and feel beauty and as you breath in fresh air, breath in his spirit. You are a part of a great legacy, continue and enjoy it - carry on the happiness he shared with you, that I find is the best tribute to give.

Mr Dan Whitten

My thoughts and condolences are with Joe and Jillian. My Father passed in June. I know it will be a tough time for the family.
I have a lot of Whitten cases, this is a reflection of the quality of the product ,made with love.
Dan was proud of his family.
My prayers are with them,

Sanj

This comes as a real shock to me. Dan Whitten was one of the "good guys" in the pool world, a real class act all the way! It is men like Dan that have made my experience in pool a good one. He took pride in his work, turning out some of the finest cases ever made and never knocked another man's work.

He led by example and I learned from him whether he realized it or not. THANK YOU DAN WHITTEN for being the MAN you were!

My condolences to the Whitten family. I always really loved the Whitten cases. When I traveled to Capone's in Florida for the Seminole Pro Tour, I met Dan. I sat next to him for a bunch of hours one day, and we sweated all the matches. I saved him a good seat for the finals and got to sweat that out with him too. Really such a nice guy!!! RIP Dan Whitten.

Sounds like he was a great guy, and he and his family certainly do make outstanding cases, as I have used one for many years. My condolences to his family and friends. Life if short. What will they say about you when you're gone?

Only learnt about this guy after his death. Very sorry that I'll never have the chance to meet him now.

Sincerest condolences to his family and friends. :frown:
