Danny Diliberto Hit by Truck

Danny Diliberto is recuperating in the hospital after being injured in an auto accident last Friday.

"I was hit by a truck. Really. I was in my van and a truck rear-ended me. I'm messed up." But Danny is still Danny. He told us by phone: "The good news is my doctor says my brain was bleeding. So now I know I've got a brain!"

Danny will probably be in the hospital a few more days before his doctors will release him.

I think this proves that Danny D. is pretty much invincible. The universe has been pummeling him for 80 years, and he just keeps trucking along...simply amazing.
 
I just talked to Danny...his voice sounds good....
..but he says he looks horrible.

I think it's my fault this happened.....
...nobody hits Double D from behind when I'm around.
 
I hope Danny will recover well from this--wish him the best--I never got the chance to meet up but Billy J had a lot of good stories I got to hear over the years. I have a freind that has a Balabushka that once belonged to him. I wanted to try and get Danny to verify the cue--it once was owned by Marcell Camp from how the story goes--

Danny D. is one of pool's real treasures! He has been an integral part of my life for over 40 years now. I guess you could say he was my mentor in many respects. Thanks Danny for all you do! :thumbup:

I'm glad that Danny was in a vehicle or there might have been more damage to the truck.

And you're correct, Chuck Norris has a picture of Danny on his shelf.

It may or may not be true but if Marcel did own the cue it would have been for like 10 minutes. I knew him for about the last 20 years of his life and he didn't value anything. I never knew him to even own a cue of any value that he didn't turn into cash as soon as he was broke, which was most of the time. He loved to bet sports and the dog racing, actually, anything you could bet on. He could have $3000.00 in his pocket and he would order the cheapest thing on the menu. Money was for gambling, not spending.

Get well soon Danny. Someone that knows Danny well needs to hook him up with a good Injury Lawyer. I hope he don't get one of them meat wagon chasers or the ones that get in the hospital and visit you in your room. He was parked and hit from behind. In most of those type cases he will collect a big jar of jelly. Johnnyt
