Also I live only blocks from the galt house so obviously i'm not opposed to this idea.

I know it's great to be in crawling distance back to your rooms buy hey...as I said...you can't have everything.
And as I am sure Greg knows full well, there is a huge advantage to being in Lousiville. Not every location will ignore the gambling that is part of the heart and soul of the DCC.
If it is not held in Louisville, then Diamond and the gamblers had better get it in WRITING from local law enforcement that open and substantial gambling is going to be allowed. If not, then a couple of plain clothed cops could bust a LOT of people on FELONY charges.
Be careful out there.

Jim

No amount of stupid smilies is going to change that.
Vegas is ridiculously expensive for the fans and especially the promoters compared to anywhere in the midwest. If the Riv ever does get imploded you can say good bye to pool tournaments in Vegas.
I personally have talked to the people who actually sign the contracts. My info is different from yours.frankncali said:I don't believe this at all. Each year there are other casinos that try to get the events like the APA.
I personally was interviewed by some reps from the Tropicana. The Sands has also been interested.
Vegas is mega competitive right now for large groups.
One thing that would interest me if I were a promoter would be trying to find a location that offered easy and reasonable flight and driving access.
Hopefully it can be worked out to please the masses.

Nothing Greg does is going to please everyone. I have faith he will do what is best for the event, the game itself and the players.
