Derby City Ten Ball Invitational

Alex is already in! As you can see, we are fast running out of spots and that's a good thing. I'm waiting to hear back from Francisco and Dennis Orcullo, both of whom should be playing again this year. That leaves one opening for Efren or ?. Efren is my first choice if he wants to play.

Next year there is a possibility that this event (which is becoming more popular every year) will be expanded to 32 players. There are a lot of good players who will get shut out this year. I've already crunched the numbers with Greg and a 32 player field would require one extra day and the payouts would be as follows: First $15,000, second $9,000, third-fourth $5,000, fifth-eighth $2,000.

id like to reserve a spot if possible

Give it to rivercitysledge. He made his own thread asking and must really like his horse's chances.

Efren should be there, its not the same without him. But,thx Jay,I love this event. And Thanks to Fatboy for dishing out dough at the beginning to get this as popular as it has become.

i think it would b kool if u could do a young up and coming player ... save 1 spot for sum1 like that each year... n really give them a chance to get up there with the big boys

Jesse Engel is about the only "up and comer" I would consider. I haven't heard boo from him as yet.

has to be....

Just a heads up on this upcoming event at DCC. Looks like it will be the best one yet! The entry fee is $1,000 with $10,000 in added money. Only sixteen players, single elimination, race to fifteen. First will pay $12,000, second $7,000 and third-fourth $3,500.

Players entered already include: Mika, Ralf, Johnny, Dechaine, Alex, Shane, Darren, Lee Vann, Rodney (defending champ), Big D (Dennis H.), Corey, World Ten Ball champ Huidji See and Stevie Moore. Only three spots left. I expect Francisco and Dennis O. to take two of them. Who will get the last spot is still uncertain. Who would you pick?

the pearl!!!

Jay,

Brendan Crockett, only 16 years old, finished very high in the money at the US Open. He beat Ronnie Wiseman and Mike Banks Jr. in the money rounds. His only losses were to Chris Melling and Stephen Cohen. If you need to get in touch with him, I can help you.

I like to see a good mixture of players: some from the Phillipines, some from Taiwan/China, some from Europe, from US, Canada, established champions, up-and-comers, etc...

Brandon Shuff also deserves a spot as I heard he finished 2nd last year? Efren, Earl are abviously other choices. Tough decision to make, Jay.

That's a pretty good idea.

Maybe there should be an AZBilliards poll to pick a player, but in order to actually vote you must pay $100 toward the entry fee of $1,000. You of course have piece of the player's action.

Is Schmitty or Harriman still playing pool?

What does that say under your name? I can't quite read it, old eyes and all. ;)

If the spot is open I'm only a phone call away Jay. and good job gettin this Fatboy challenge hyped up with higher entry fee! that's awesome.
It still is called Fatboy challenge right?

If not Efren....

My suggestions would be Klatt or Gomez.... big breakers each with the game capable of taking this down.

How bout giving fatboy a spot w/ a free entry? ? Its only right!

PEACE

It would be great to back Efren in any tournament but he only gives me permission to stake him in the mini-tournaments. This is a maxi-tournament. :D
