Derby City Ten Ball Invitational

Brandon was second two years ago to Efren. Now he's IN! One spot left. It will go to Francisco or Efren. Unfortunately in a sixteen player field, some good players will get left out. We are seriously considering going to 32 players next year (2013). Space and time are the major considerations in making this happen.

What's wrong with it being an invitational tournament?

It's their event. They can decide to do whatever they want with it.

Jay u r right I dont have to watch and that is why people dont watch pool.

This should be opened up to 32 man field this year. I'm sure they would be able to make it work. Wouldn't it just take an extra round to be played? I'm sure there is time for that.

Why wasn't Earl invited?

Let me get this right...people don't watch pool because you have the right to not watch pool? hummmm???

If I were Eric, or whoever it is that put up the added money, I would keep it at 16-man field and invitational only. At 16, It's got a more "exclusive" feel to it. Truly the top talents in the world and a highly prestige event.

Sure, there will be several players worthy to be in the 16 that are left out. But that's the beauty of it.

Besides, even if the field is opened to 32-invitational, there will still be players left out who are worthy to be in. So the argument is back full circle.

I like the 16 because it will always be filled. 32 and you might have trouble filling the field. It's kind of like the small restaurant packed every night, with a waiting line at peak times. They decide to double their size with added parking and now, never seeing a waiting line, people start to wonder, "What happened to the good food? You never see anybody going to that restaurant any more. Let's find a better restaurant." :D

Huh???? Say again please. This makes as much sense as your "joke" comment. We've got sixteen of the strongest players in the world playing long matches for serious money and you're the only guy complaining about that. I think the joke is on you. Maybe you just don't like pool. Have you thought about joining a chess forum? Or maybe checkers, now there's an exciting game for you.

Dang, I'm too late!! I was gonna take that last spot and come off the biggest stall ever..:D Sure, you haven't heard of me only because I been laying it down so good for so long.;)

Maybe next year!!!

Gary

Ok for the third time - when is the event?
