This a gentlemans tourney.
do you really think the 14 all ready signed up are all gentlemen, Earl is a gentlemen compared to a couple of those guys.
This should be based on skill anyway.

Brandon was second two years ago to Efren. Now he's IN! One spot left. It will go to Francisco or Efren. Unfortunately in a sixteen player field, some good players will get left out. We are seriously considering going to 32 players next year (2013). Space and time are the major considerations in making this happen.
Jay u r right I dont have to watch and that is why people dont watch pool.
If I were Eric, or whoever it is that put up the added money, I would keep it at 16-man field and invitational only. At 16, It's got a more "exclusive" feel to it. Truly the top talents in the world and a highly prestige event.
Sure, there will be several players worthy to be in the 16 that are left out. But that's the beauty of it.
Besides, even if the field is opened to 32-invitational, there will still be players left out who are worthy to be in. So the argument is back full circle.

Huh???? Say again please. This makes as much sense as your "joke" comment. We've got sixteen of the strongest players in the world playing long matches for serious money and you're the only guy complaining about that. I think the joke is on you. Maybe you just don't like pool. Have you thought about joining a chess forum? Or maybe checkers, now there's an exciting game for you.
